MSNBC Host: Republican Candidate Saying 'There Are Only Two Genders' Is 'Incendiary'

David Rutz at the Washington Free Beacon underlined on Friday just how dramatically the liberal media is shifting the goal posts on what statements are "incendiary." To say there are two genders is now apparently outrageous, beyond the pale, at least according to MSNBC anchor Chris Jansing.

"We've got an important question now," Jansing told viewers. "What does it mean to be a mainstream Republican? It is the question that some Republicans have been asking in the age of Donald Trump, and increasingly, it seems the answer might be to make incendiary comments about women and members of the LGBTQ community."

Jansing brought up 2012 comments from former congressman Jason Lewis, who is challenging Al Franken's Senate replacement, Tina Smith. In responding to the Sandra Fluke/Rush Limbaugh controversy, Lewis said on a radio show "Are we beyond those days where a woman can behave as a slut, but you can’t call her a slut?” CNN brought those comments out in 2018, and Lewis lost his House seat.

Then she turned to Louisiana: "In Louisiana, the Republican candidate for governor, Ralph Abraham, is out with a new TV ad this week making incendiary comments about gender," she added.

"Here's the truth," Abraham said. "Life begins at conception. Government is too big. Our taxes are too high. And our car insurance is too expensive. President Trump is doing a great job. Facts matter more than feelings. The Second Amendment is self-explanatory. And as a doctor, I can assure you there are only two genders."

Fainting couch, anyone?

Not to be outdone, Jansing's guest Jennifer Horn -- who just quit the Log Cabin Republicans for endorsing Trump  -- asserted that to insist there are only two genders is now "despicable" and even "un-American."

HORN: The political strategy of trying to divide and conquer in this manner, the constant targeting that the transgender community has suffered under this president, and those close to him, and those who are trying to copy him is it's untenable. It's truly un-American. And absolutely we need more people to join us. We need people to stand up and say what's true. That this president is a divisive, destructive force against the American democracy that we all hold so dear...
