Report: ABC Wouldn't Let Barbara Walters Name Traitor Edward Snowden as 2013's 'Most Fascinating' Person

“It’s a leak Barbara Walters doesn’t want you to know about,” the New York Daily News gossip column “Confidential” promised on Wednesday. “The ABC News doyenne pushed hard to have NSA leaker Edward Snowden at the top of her list of 10 most fascinating people of the year — but in the end was overruled by network brass,” said a source. Snowden did not cooperate.

“She had a particular fascination with the former NSA contractor, we’re told, because at one point she believed he would be chosen as Time magazine’s Person of the Year.” Snowden is on the list of 10, but the number-one pick remains unknown until the show airs, which is on December 18. Then there were the Clintons:

We’ve also learned that this year the special also will include a segment featuring Walters’ picks for the most fascinating people of the past 20 years.

We’re told Babs was interested in Bill and Hillary Clinton for the segment, so she can “go out with a bang.”

Did they really say that about Bill Clinton without an arched eyebrow?

Others on Barbara’s 2013 list are entertainers – Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Lawrence, the cast of “Duck Dynasty,” Kanye West alongside side reality star wife Kim Kardashian – as well as Britain’s baby Prince George, swimmer Diana Nyad, Pope Francis, and ABC’s own “Good Morning America” host Robin Roberts.
