False: Beware Facebook Satire of Santorum Seeing 'Eye to Eye' with the Taliban on Porn

In the age of social media, there are dangers when presidential candidates are satirized with fake quotes. Snopes.com has waved a red flag about a false quote some liberals are passing along seriously that has Rick Santorum saying his view on pornography is "one of only a few things I see eye to eye with on the Taliban."

One would think it doesn't sound plausible that Santorum would be talking up his commonality with the Taliban or declaring "I will ban all pornography." But liberals want to believe he actually said this. (Just as they want to imagine aggressively that someone this "homophobic" must be repressing his own latent homosexuality.) This is what Facebook and Twitter users have been seeing (and some are believing):

Snopes suggested the satire was based on Santorum's tough criticism of pornography and his pledge to enforce current laws, a pledge Mitt Romney has avoided.

The satirists are a site called Americans for a More American America, which is mocking all the Republican presidential candidates. Another satire somehow thinks it's funny to have Mitt Romney proposing he'll put a two-dollar coupon for Domino's Pizza inside every rape kit.
