Christine O'Donnell Skit: 'During a Game of Truth or Dare, Me and My Friend Becky Killed a Mexican'

Is it funny to suggest Christine O'Donnell is a murderer? Stephen Colbert thought so, in a skit last Wednesday. On Friday night's Real Time with Bill Maher, instead of playing a real clip from his old show Politically Incorrect, Maher created a fake one, so O'Donnell could be smeared as a killer. Alex Bornstein, the actress who performs the voice of Lois on Fox's Family Guy, put on a frumpy dress and curly wig to play O'Donnell, and said: "Like, you know, one time, during a game of Truth or Dare, me and my friend Becky killed a Mexican."

Edie McClurg (best known as the principal's secretary on Ferris Bueller's Day Off) then said, "Ohhhh, that's f---ed up." Earlier in the skit, the fake O'Donnell also reported she had repeated pregnancies to sell stem cells and thought anal sex was approved in the Bible:

FAKE O'DONNELL: We've all done things we regret. In college, you know, we used to get pregnant all the time on purpose, just so we could sell the stem cells. I'm not proud of that! It's just, it was the 80's, you know?

CHRISTOPHER "KID" REID: That's messed up, right there.

When Maher joked he had two girls in a hot tub, then came this line:

FAKE O'DONNELL: Those girls should know that keeping your virginity is very important. But in the ass is okay. It is, it's true. I've dabbled in the ass a little bit. It's in the Bible, it's okay.

EDIE McCLURG: I don't think that's true, dear.

On The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert introduced a spinning wheel of  wacky O'Donnell biographical sketches, the Christine O'Donnell Clip Predictor 3000, which also mocked O'Donnell as a criminal. It was a little like a game of Clue, consisting of her activity, a partner, and a TV show it was clipped from. Colbert read these "predictions" of the next clip after spinning the wheel:

"She killed a drifter with -- a zombie -- on Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations."

"She robbed a bank with -- a merman -- on Meerkat Manor."

Other categories of her activities included "Groped" and "Woke Up in a Bathtub Missing a Kidney With." Colbert, aping Bill Maher, said "Christine, come on my show -- or I'll spin it again."

Ridiculous, and clearly fictional? Sure. But imagine the same joke with Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton and imagine how angry the liberal media elite would get. They would find zero humor in it. (See The New Yorker cover, for example.) But the idea of Christine O'Donnell as a criminal just never stops tickling the liberal ribs somehow.

Comedians apparently never have to submit to a "fact check" when they smear people. No one expects them to have a civility standard -- unless the target is someone liberals adore.
