White House Chief of Staff David Axelrod appeared on a National Public Radio game show on Saturday called "Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me!" This being NPR, the program has been previously cited here when host Peter Sagal joked Dick Cheney ordered John Murtha's murder and Karl Rove's butt was his "undisclosed location."

Knowing the liberal sense of humor required for this crowd, Axelrod joked that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, was in contention for the job of -- White House dog? Yes, reports the New York Times:

Finally, there was the conversation weaving between, of all things, Miss California U.S.A. Carrie Prejean, the same-sex marriage opponent who the panel had already mocked at length, and Bo, the Obama family’s Portuguese water dog.

When Mr. Axelrod was asked how involved he was in the selection of Bo, he jokingly answered that he “only got called in for the final three.”

But as Mr. Axelrod was trying to set the record straight – he actually was not consulted – Mr. Sagal asked about the two runner-ups.

“One was Miss California,” Mr. Axelrod cracked to the audience’s laughter.

The show's three mocking panelists were Washington Post gossip Roxanne Roberts, comedian Mo Rocca, and leftist comic (and former Mother Jones columnist) Paula Poundstone, who probably shouldn't be joking about or laughing at the looks of Miss California.

The normally Chicago-based game show was taping in D.C. at George Washington University. This is how obnoxious liberals live -- they take our money and mock us.
