Meredith Vieira: Liberal on Sex Ed, Roe v. Wade, The Clintons

Here's a few more recent examples of impending "Today" co-host Meredith Vieira sounding liberal on ABC's "The View," courtesy of the MRC Cyber Alert archive:

June 9, 2005: Vieira insisted to Sean Hannity that Hillary’s no puppet of her husband, and whacks away at abstinence-only sex education: "Why does the federal government deny funding then in terms of [sex education] classes for kids if they don't preach anything other than abstinence?"

January 22, 2003: As "The View" crew ganged up on pro-life actress Jennifer O'Neill, Vieira argued: "But prior to abortion becoming legal that’s when things were really secret much more so than after it became legal, and very dangerous. So there is going to be abortion one way or the other."

PS: Since I already made one note of Clinton bias, there's this from May 30, 2003:

Vieira soon brought up a newspaper report: "Did you see -- now, I don't know if this is true, it's in the New York Post today, Page Six -- a friend of Ken Starr's is saying that he now wants to have dinner -- you know, Ken Starr's the one who tried to get rid of Clinton, essentially, led the investigation -- he now wants to have dinner with Clinton and his wife, Hillary, according to the friend that's quoted."

The gaggle spent a while debating whether they would be able to "bury the hatchet" themselves in a similar situation when, in Vieira's words, somebody "had so vilified you and gone after you."

And don't forget what Scott Whitlock found just weeks ago, when Vieira went to town on religion: Responding to a comment by Behar, that Robertson feeds off of people’s biases, Vieira responded, "It’s also the way religion’s often worked. That’s why you have these wars going on, because they feed off bigotry." She added that Robertson’s statements are "particularly dangerous," because "this is what incites terrorism, essentially."
