CBS, NBC Still Hiding Biden’s Payout to Illegals, ABC Finally Notices

The corrupt media’s wall of protection for the Joe Biden administration is crumbling, despite the best efforts of the networks. Last week, it was revealed that the White House is shelling out a massive amount of money to families of illegals separated at the border. Yet, ABC, CBS and NBC ignored the President at first calling the number, suggested to be $450,000, “garbage.” He ultimately admitted that some money was being given out. They skipped that too.

On Sunday, ABC’s Good Morning America finally stumbled onto the story as weekend co-host Whit Johnson asked analyst Rick Klein: “We've also seen President Biden come under fire over reports of payments of migrant families separated at the border. How is the White House explaining this?”

“How is the White House explaining this? Isn’t that the job of the networks to investigate? Klein deemed the whole thing “fascinating,” despite his network ignoring it until Sunday:

This is fascinating, Whit, because the first time the President was asked about it, he said it was a “garbage” report seeming to dismiss the idea that these payments would be going out at all. But he – Just yesterday, he clarified and he said he was referring to the size of the reported payment. That at the time it was being reported, they were talking about $450,000 per incident of a migrant separation. That ignited an uproar when it was reported and President Biden said his quibble is not with the idea of those payments, but the size. He says it would actually cost taxpayer money to not have a settlement of some sort even if it's a smaller amount than that.

Klein concluded, “Either way, it will be a controversial decision.” Clearly it’s not for liberals on the ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening shows because, except for this 54 seconds, they haven’t cared to cover it.

As NewsBusters deputy managing editor Nick Fondacaro noted on Thursday, the networks didn’t care about the initial $450,000 per family claim. And only Fox was interested in an exchange between reporter Peter Doocy and Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at Thursday’s briefing:

PETER DOOCY: But if it’s not – if he’s okay with $450,000 how much is okay with giving to illegal immigrants?

KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: This is something—again Peter, this is something that the Department of Justice is going to handle.

WHIT JOHNSON: I do want to switch topics though, because we've also seen President Biden come under fire over reports of payments of migrant families separated at the border. How is the White House explaining this?

RICK KLEIN: Yeah, this is fascinating, Whit, because the first time the President was asked about it, he said it was a “garbage” report seeming to dismiss the idea that these payments would be going out at all.

Either way, it will be a controversial decision if and when the Justice Department comes to a settlement. President Biden though, is saying that it's the only way to right the wrong that was enacted by his predecessor.
