MSNBC Debate Moderator: 'How Far' Will You Go to Put Planet-Destroying CEOs 'in Jail?'

February 19th, 2020 10:54 PM

During Wednesday's Democratic debate, co-moderator Vanessa Hauc of Telemundo went hard left as she lobbied Joe Biden on putting gas executives who are “harming our planet” in jail. When she didn’t get the right answer, she pressed Biden again.

Hauc used alarmist language, demanding, “Vice President Biden, you have said you want to hold oil and gas executives accountable for their role in harming our planet. You have even suggested that you might put them in jail. Which companies are you talking about and how far are you willing to go? ”

Hauc then pushed the former Vice President for action in jailing those responsible for “the destruction of our planet.”

HAUC: Vice President Biden, you didn’t answer my question.

BIDEN: I thought I did.

HAUC: What would you do with these companies that are responsible for the destruction of our planet?

Co-debate moderator and NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt piled on:

We're going to stay on the topic. My question is to mayor Bloomberg. Your business is heavily invest in the China. I think you mention that had a few questions back. The number one producer in the world of carbon emissions. How far would you go to force China to reduce those emissions and tackle the climate crisis?

A transcript of those debate questions is below:
