ABC Graphic Falsely Accuses Paul Manafort of Killing Five; Network Apologizes

Talk about fake news. During a live break in on Wednesday to cover Donald Trump’s latest comments on immigration, a network graphic falsely reported that former Trump aide Paul Manafort was guilty of killing five people. As Trump spoke, the ABC chyron claimed: “Manafort Pleads Guilty to 5 Charges of Manslaughter.”

In case you were wondering, that did not happen. After the bizarre assertion, the ABC PR Twitter page quickly issued a statement.

The question is how did such a nasty, false statement get loaded in at the ABC graphics department? Further explanation from ABC would be helpful.
