Egyptian Newspaper Publishes Picture Depicting Obama as the Devil, Will U.S. Media Report It?

When George W. Bush was president, America's media loved reporting international demonstrations against him once things in Iraq turned south.

With this in mind, it will be interesting to see if the same historically anti-war press will cover a picture depicting Barack Obama as the devil published Wednesday in the popular Egyptian newspaper Al Wafd.

PJ Tatler reports, "The unflattering picture has been making the rounds on Facebook in the Middle East and, according to Al Wafd, is representative of the hatred growing numbers of people in the region have for the American president, thanks to his staunch and unwavering support for Islamists and jihadiis."

This of course goes quite contrary to the U.S. media's depiction of Obama as the Messiah, especially when it comes to foreign policy. Lest we forget how they celebrated when he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.

Of course, so-called journalists on this side of the Pond could always report this as an example of how Egyptians and others in the Middle East just hate Obama because of the color of his skin.

After all, any criticism of this president by his foes here in the States is and has been so depicted.

Alas, that wasn't the case when Bush was president.

Negative caricatures of him were to be celebrated as CNN showed in January 2006:

What a difference a "D" makes.
