Jerry Springer made an admission Friday that Americans on both sides of the aisle might agree with.

“Look, my show is stupid,” admitted Springer. “It’s stupid. But, it’s fun to do. I enjoy it. People obviously like it otherwise they wouldn’t watch it."
“It has no redeeming social value,” he continued. “It’s an hour of escapism.”
Responding to whether he paved the way for staged reality shows, Springer said, “I am the father of the destruction of Western civilization. I have done that. But, frankly, I think we’ve got to give Eastern civilization a shock.”
Well, at least he’s willing to admit his role in society’s decline.
