ABC and Disney have maintained that The View was a “bona fide news program” that operated in the public interest. Co-host Joy Behar made it harder for the network to make that argument to the Federal Communications Commission on Wednesday, after she suggested that President Trump has had sex with animals and that it was somehow tied to the FBI lowering their hiring standards.
Behar’s ridiculous suggestion came amid the liberal media pouncing on FBI Director Kash Patel’s Tuesday exchange with senators in a hearing. They presented their audience with this highly edited and chopped up conversation between Patel and Louisiana Senator John Kennedy (R):
PATEL: Obviously we are never going to hire the criminal --
KENNEDY: This side of what, the bestiality?
PATEL: Yes.
KENNEDY: So you disqualified the animal? [Transition] Why would you even get into bestiality?
PATEL: We are not into bestiality. But a lot of these individuals --
[Transition]
KENNEDY: If Joe participated in bestiality. Not as the animal but as the human, don't you think he ought to be qualified -- disqualified?
After they got their laughs in and noted how “baaaaad” it was, with a sheep sound. Behar stepped in and wondered, “Does this even ever come up ever in a conversation?”

Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin jumped in to explain the hiring process for the federal government:
HOSTIN: Well, it comes up because during your --
FARAH GRIFFIN: SF86 interview.
HOSTIN: When they're investigating your background, sometimes these things come up and it' usually a disqualifier.
Behar’s twisted brain had to make it about her favorite hate object.
“Okay, this is all about Trump in my opinion right now,” Behar shouted. “This has never -- during the Lincoln administration and I was there, this did not happen. There was no discussion about bestiality.”
Was Behar suggesting that Trump wanted the FBI standards lowered so he could join the FBI?
As usual, The View’s hatred of Trump made it impossible to have a nuanced conversation.
What they cut around in the soundbite was Patel trying to explain the situations the FBI had run into. According to him, there were victims, usually women, who were sex trafficked and forced into positions of prostitution and bestiality. Once they either were rescued or escaped their situation, they wanted to help other victims but couldn’t join the FBI because those activities barred them.
It was a nuanced perspective that was being whispered into the maelstrom that was the Trump-hating, elitist, liberal media. And it was certainly not the response a “bona fide news program” should have.

BEHAR: What is going on?! Unless you bought a zoo, I don’t see the point.
