The View: DeSantis 'Looked Like the Devil,' Kari Lake Has Ugly Face

November 15th, 2022 1:39 PM

Keeping with co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin’s promise that the show would aim to “elevate the discourse” in their 26th season, ABC’s The View spent a lot of Tuesday attacking Republicans for their mental and physical qualities, including their looks. They suggested Florida governor and GOP powerhouse Ron DeSantis “looked like the devil” and that Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake wore too much makeup.

As they were discussing the possibility of former President Trump facing off against DeSantis in 2024, they scoffed at and debated the notion that the latter was clever and suggested he had no charisma, despite just winning reelection:

SUNNY HOSTIN: People think that DeSantis is quite clever and that part of his cleverness that he got the undocumented people on planes and flew them to Martha’s Vineyard, like that is allegedly like a funny thing, I just found it to be mean. So, I think it really depends on what your type of humor is.

JOY BEHAR: He’s very mean.

HAINES: I’ve never heard he was clever. I heard he doesn't have charisma when he speaks, which is the opposite.

HOSTIN: Oh, I’ve heard he's very, very clever. And I think –

NAVARRO: Who told you he was clever?

HAINES: Yeah, who told you he was clever?

NAVARRO: It’s on the notes that he’s clever?

HOSTIN: It's been written about that he's very clever and that he’s very smart.

Faux conservative Farah Griffin agreed DeSantis was smart, but insisted he was socially awkward. “He's very smart, not known for being a retail politician. He can't do the folky and like kissing babies and touching hands,” she claimed, without evidence.

“Kissing babies?! I don’t trust anyone who can’t kiss a baby!” co-host Sara Haines hysterically shrieked.

Contorting her face, racist co-host Sunny Hostin proclaimed DeSantis “looked like the Devil” when he sent illegal immigrants to her liberal stronghold of Martha’s Vineyard.

A short time later, there was some woman-on-woman hate as the cast attacked strong conservative women (unlike co-hosts Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro). The not-so-joyful Joy Behar ridiculously predicted that Lake and New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R) would need to have a literal “fistfight” to decide who would be Trump’s 2024 running mate. “That will be a match between those two who want it so bad,” she mocked.

Navarro – who isn’t winning any beauty pageants – lashed out at Lake for her looks and supposedly wearing too much makeup. “The question is going to be: Who's going to wear more makeup, Kari Lake or Donald Trump?” she asked, as the liberal audience laughed. “And who’s going to have the better filter.”

Earlier in the show, Behar raged at Attorney General Merrick Garland for not indicting Trump yet. “Now that Trump is a wounded animal this is the exact time when Merrick Garland should swoop in and indict him,” she whined. “And already Merrick Garland is a day late and a dollar short, he should have done it this morning before this guy announces.”

The View’s anti-Republican hate was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Dove and JCPenney. Their contact information is linked.

JOY BEHAR: But now that he is – Now that Trump is a wounded animal this is the exact time when Merrick Garland should swoop in and indict him. Because –

SUNNY HOSTIN: Well, this is why he's announcing, Joy.

BEHAR: Well, that is exactly why he’s announcing. And already Merrick Garland is a day late and dollar short, he should have done it this morning before this guy announces. But he didn’t do it yet, which makes it now it looks as though it's political which is what Merrick Garland was trying to avoid.

HOSTIN: Well, he has to – He needs a little bit of time, because there are at least four to five areas that he's investigating with Donald Trump.

SARA HAINES: But he’s taking to along.

BEHAR: Well, start -- How about one before the announcement? One.

HOSTIN: Well, I think it's best that the prosecutors look at everything.

ANA NAVARRO: Well honey, he's got about 10 hours. I don’t think you’re going to get it.

HOSTIN: He’s got to look at everything because is you bring a case against Donald Trump – I think maybe you said it.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: You better win it.

HOSTIN: You gotta win it.

[Crosstalk]

FARAH GRIFFIN:  He's very smart, not known for being a retail politician. He can't do the folksy and like kissing babies and touching hands –

HOSTIN: No, but he can do those–

HAINES: Kissing babies?! I don’t trust anyone who can’t kiss a baby!

HOSTIN: He does those gotcha moments. Like, “Ha, ha, you're in Martha's Vineyard now. Look how clever I am.” I thought he looked like the Devil when doing that.

BEHAR: He did.

HOSTIN: Do you think Kari Lake would be Donald Trump's running mate?

FARAH GRIFFIN: I still kind of think so. Because he doesn’t think he lost –

[Crosstalk]

HOSTIN: That would be like the Sarah Palin choice!

BEHAR: Well, you know what? He’s going to have to fistfight Elise Stefanik – She will have to.

FARAH GRIFFIN: It won't be Elise.

BEHAR: That will be a match between those two who want it so bad.

FARAH GRIFFIN: It won’t be Elise. She thinks it will, but it won’t be.

HAINES: Would he take Kari Lake? Because she was this promised star that was not –

FARAH GRIFFIN: She's already tweeting that something went wrong in Arizona and kind of leaning into it was stolen from her.

HAINES: We've heard this story before.

BEHAR: She had a nasty tweet against Liz Cheney and calling her a war monger and other things. She’s not a nice girl.

NAVARRO: The question is going to be: Who's going to wear more makeup, Kari Lake or Donald Trump?

[Laughter]

NAVARRO: And who’s going to have the better filter.
