For Praising Pelosi, MTG Now a Morning Joe Favorite: 'Reality-Based Analysis'

Katty Kay Eugene Robinson MSNBC Morning Joe 11-7-25 Who would have thunk it? Marjorie Taylor Greene, Morning Joe's favorite Republican member of Congress!

But with her recent moves to distance herself from President Trump and the GOP at large, MTG is winning Morning Joe hearts and minds.

The latest came today. After the show aired Trump's pointed criticism of Nancy Pelosi in reaction to her announcement that she would not be seeking re-election, and Speaker Mike Johnson's less critical but not flattering comments, the show aired MTG saying:

"I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term of congress, and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done."

That led Eugene Robinson to say that he seriously thinks MTG may be running for president, adding:

"I'm sorry, I thought I'd never say this, but on these issues, she's coming back more to reality. You know, she's giving more sort of reality-based analysis than we're hearing from Speaker Johnson, for example."

Praising Pelosi is "coming back to reality." Jonathan Lemire capped the segment by saying:

"The Marjorie Taylor Greene welcome-to-the-Resistance moments continue to pile up."

And with every such moment, more praise from the liberal Media.

Marge, the Jewish space lasers are forgiven! Just keep praising Democrats and criticizing Republicans, and you'll continue to receive the liberal media's warm embrace!

Note: This is not the first time Morning Joe has praised MTG for her heterodox views. In the past, Joe Scarborough found MTG so abhorrent that he ordered her image taken down from the screen. But last month, we caught Scarborough praising MTG as a working-class hero for demanding that Obamacare subsidies be continued.

And earlier this week, NewsBuster Nicholas Fondacaro noted Joy Behar of The View suggesting that Taylor Greene should become a Democrat!

Here's the transcript.

JONATHAN LEMIRE: Instead of recognizing Pelosi's decades of service to the country, Trump simply said this.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I think she's an evil woman. I'm glad she's retiring. I think she did the country a great service by retiring. I think she was a tremendous liability for the country. I thought she was an evil woman who did a poor job, who cost the country a lot in damages and in reputation. I thought she was terrible.

MIKE JOHNSON: The old guard has been repudiated, and the radicals are taking over the Democratic party. We have evidence now every day. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi has now announced her retirement this morning. That is a very important sign, that I hope that you all will delve into. Even the famous San Francisco liberal is not far left enough for the neo-Marxists.

. . .

KATTY KAY: Not all Republicans repeated the President and the House Speaker's negative talking points about Nancy Pelosi. Here's GOP Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia sounding a little different.

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: I will praise Nancy Pelosi. She had an incredible career for her party. I served under her speakership in my first term of Congress, and I'm very impressed at her ability to get things done. I wish we could get things done for our party like Nancy Pelosi was able to deliver for her party.

KAY: Gene, watching Nancy and Marjorie Taylor Greene separate herself almost at any moment she can from both the White House and Republican leadership has been so interesting. What do you think's going on here?

EUGENE ROBINSON: I think maybe she's running for president.

KAY: Or for senator.

ROBINSON: I think she may be, I'm serious. I'm serious. Yeah, I don't know. I think she is, I think she has ambitions for higher office. And that's number one.

And number two, she's, you know, and I, I'm sorry I thought I'd never say this, but on these issues, she's coming back more to reality. You know, she's giving more sort of reality-based analysis than we're hearing from Speaker Johnson, for example.

Look at Tuesday's results in Virginia, for example. Every single county, including the most conservative, the most Republican counties, Every single one, the Trumpiest counties, every single one moved toward the Democrats.

That should be telling them something. Yet it seems to have gotten through to Marjorie Taylor Greene and not to, perhaps not to others.

LEMIRE: Yeah, the Marjorie Taylor Greene, welcome-to-the-Resistance moments continue to pile up.
