Mika, Mika, Mika. Of all the politicians to be "obsessed" with, Claire McCaskill? Really?
Yup. On today's Morning Joe, reacting to some recent polls showing positive movement for the Missouri Dem, Brzezinski openly rooted: "come on, Claire!" A bit later, Mika gave free rein to her amour-McCaskill, saying "I'm obsessed with her. I love her."
What's to love, Mika? Isn't Brzezinski among President Trump's harshest critics when it comes to immigration? Yet just a few days ago, in a transparently cynical attempt to reach out to Republicans, McCaskill declared "I support the president 100% doing what he needs to do to secure the border."
JOE SCARBOROUGH: It's gotten as tight and tumultuous as a Texas twister.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Let's go to Missouri. The NBC News/Marist poll shows:here we go, guys. Everybody look. Claire McCaskill pulling into the lead as she seeks a third term. Come on, Claire! 50% to Attorney General Josh Hawley's 47%. My Lord! Another poll showing them within the margin of error, but slightly better for McCaskill than the tied race the poll found in late August.
JOE: Stop right there. There is no reason Claire McCaskill should be within 15 points --
MIKA: My God!
JOE: -- in any race. If this woman wins again in that state without [2012 GOP opponent] Todd Akin this time --
MIKA: I'm obsessed with her. I love her.
