Nasty Joy Behar Wonders If Melania's a 'Co-Conspirator,' Coerced, or Brainwashed

January 19th, 2021 12:16 PM

The View hosts talked briefly about President Trump’s legacy to kick off Tuesday’s show, but ended the segment with vicious gossip about First Lady Melania Trump. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg asked Joy Behar what she thought about the First Lady’s farewell speech and that prompted a nasty rant from the far-left co-host.

If you can believe it, just a few weeks ago, Behar boasted that The View had “been respectful to Melania” over the last 4+ years. Go to that post linked to see just how wrong that statement was even then. The lying continued on today’s show, as she delved into all sorts of nasty gossip about the First Lady, from suggesting she was afraid of the president, to too stupid to think for herself, to being a “co-conspirator” who is “as bad as Trump:”

The question is, is she as bad as Trump? That's what people want to know. Is she an active co-conspirator? Does she agree with him or is she under duress? I don’t know. Is she afraid of him? She has seen what he does to anybody who turns on him. Look what he did to Pence! He didn’t even care if they were going to hang the guy! He turned on A.G., what’s his name--Barr, the Attorney General in Georgia, turned on the Republicans. He doesn’t care who you are, if you don’t agree with him, he turns on you. Maybe she's afraid of him. Maybe she's afraid of being ostracized, then where will she go? But on the other hand, I know from personal experience because I interviewed her in 2011, that she's a birther or so she said. But did she find that out from him? Did he tell her to say that? Does she have a mind of her own?

Funny thing, The View hosts have never gossiped about Hillary Clinton being a “co-conspirator,” protecting her husband when he was accused of rape and sexual assault. In fact, just before the 2016 election, Sunny Hostin got heated defending Hillary as a “victim” who stood by “her man” in “trashing” her husband’s actual victims: “She reacted like any other woman would!” she declared. On another January 5, 2016 episode, talking about Clinton and Ted Kennedy, Joy Behar said she’d vote for Democrats who raped or killed women as long as they put out legislation in her favor.

Behar ended her trash talk by attacking Mrs. Trump for her "I really don't care" jacket, which Trump denied was about the child separation policy,  but actually about how the media treats her. Still, that didn’t stop Behar from declaring that was what the jacket was about, and what she would be “remembered for,” (along with “destroying the Rose Garden”):

And the fact that she had that jacket that said ‘I don’t really care do you?’ right after they separated--people were talking about separating kids from their parents. Did she mean it? Does she mean it? I don't believe she could ever mean something like that and put it out there. It's crazy. The woman is very-- it's pathetic, because she's going to be remembered for that jacket! And also for destroying the Rose Garden. I have to throw that in because that's deplorable. I hope Jill Biden gets a florist to help her because that was just--But that’s what people are going to remember her about. That she had a jacket that said "I don't really care, do you?" and it looked like as if she was talking about separating children from their parents. It's pretty bad.

JOY BEHAR: Let me just first off say, I will miss these two like I miss PMS and hot flashes. Goodbye! Don’t let the door hit you. But I think Melania is a very interesting case. We don't really know that much about her. She has a 42% favorability. Laura Bush in contrast had 67% and her husband wasn’t very popular either. But on the other hand, I know from personal experience because I interviewed her in 2011, that she's a birther or so she said. But did she find that out from him? Did he tell her to say that? Does she have a mind of her own? You know, after the siege on the Capitol, she waited uh, a couple a few days before she said a word about it and then she positioned herself as a victim. And let's not forget, you know -- the um, "I hate Christmas" video, what do you call it--audiotape we heard. WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Well, it may last as long as Marie Antionette’s quote, right? ‘Let them eat cake.’

BEHAR: Right.

WHOOPI: Isn’t that the same thing?

BEHAR: Yep.

WHOOPI: Maybe.
