When a member of the “squad” gets called out for their anti-Semitic, anti-American statements, the liberal media quickly line up to defend the Democrat congresswomen. Yet when a Republican congressman was attacked for his military service by a progressive media commentator this week, it was promptly ignored by that same liberal media.
The Young Turks’ political commentator Hasan Piker, who calls himself a “Muslim progressive” posted a livestream video to gaming platform Twitch Tuesday night, where he revealed his vile thoughts about Republican congressman, and veteran Dan Crenshaw, as well as America:
This guy [Crenshaw] has the understanding of foreign policy of, like, a 12-year-old. What the f***. What the f*** is wrong with this dude? Didn't he go to war and like literally lose his eye because some mujahideen — a brave f***ing soldier — f***ed his eye hole with their d***?"
As if saying it once wasn’t bad enough, he repeated: "Isn't that how he f***ing lost his dumba** eye, because he got his f***ing eye hole f***ed, by a brave soldier?"
Yes, he did call the enemy who took Crenshaw’s eye, a “brave soldier.” During this same livestream, Piker also said that “America deserved 9/11.” He defended these comments on Twitter.
Piker works for the left-wing YouTube channel and podcast, The Young Turks, which began as a radio show in 2002. He is also the nephew of TYT founder and host, Cenk Uygur.
Despite being a contributor to a popular left-wing channel, Piker’s vulgar attack didn’t capture the attention of anyone on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, or CBS. Crenshaw is scheduled to appear on FNC tonight to address the attack by Piker.
Using various search terms on television software company Snapstream revealed the story hasn’t been covered by any network as of Thursday afternoon. Can you imagine if a conservative commentator had posted something this vile about Rep. Ilhan Omar, what the reaction would be?
Speaking of the squad, it should be noted that these liberal hosts are big fans of “the squad” and frequently defend them on their show.
To make matters even worse, Piker’s uncle and boss, Uygur, was just on CNN last night with Chris Cuomo. Of course the topic didn’t get brought up.
The Young Turks aren’t just some fringe commentators that have no influence. Variety reported that big-wig film producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, formerly with Disney, donated 20 million dollars to TYT in 2017.It’s interesting that Saturday Night Live received a lot of backlash for making a joke about Crenshaw’s eye and was rightly forced to apologize. Yet a left-wing Muslim commentator is allowed to say such vile things about Crenshaw and America, and the media go mute.
