Anti-Conservative Comedian Makes ‘World Leader’ List; Our President Doesn't

Fortune Magazine published its annual and seemingly arbitrary list of the top fifty world leaders online Thursday, and as per usual, liberal politics were at play. In 2015 and 2016, the sister magazine of Time honored Black Lives Matter activists as “extraordinary” people who “transformed business, philanthropy and government.” This year, fiercely anti-conservative and vulgar comedian Samantha Bee made the top 20 in Fortune’s list of “world leaders.”

Bee even beat out actual current and former government leaders like Supreme Court Justice John Roberts and Joe Biden, and Canada's PM Justin Trudeau.

So why would Fortune name Bee, who hasn’t done anything of note other than throw spitballs at conservatives from her cable comedy show platform, a top “world leader?”

Writer Tom Huddleston Jr. explains: Not only is Bee an “essential voice” in the male-dominated night show landscape, she offers “incisive and often provocative political commentary.” Sure, if you count poop jokes and playground level taunting, “incisive and provocative political commentary!”

Huddleston goes on to gush over Bee’s “ferocious tackling” of the Women’s March and interviewing President Obama as reasons to why she deserves to be on the list. And credit where credit is due. It must’ve been a real stretch for Bee, a hard-core liberal feminist, to talk about the Women’s March. And as for her interview with Obama? The whole interview was set up as an opportunity for Obama to encourage young voters to vote for Hillary. Hardly ground breaking.

Of course Fortune isn’t the only one in love with Bee. Many other outlets like the Washington Post, Buzzfeed and the New York Times have revealed their own liberal bias by publishing gushing love letters to the hateful comedian since her show began last year.

The rest of Fortune’s list included plenty of liberal leaders in Congress, Hollywood and technology but no strong conservatives. The closest they got to  “conservatives” on the list were John McCain, John Kasich, and John Roberts.
