NBC's Todd Asks: Does GOP Need to Lose More Before Caving on Abortion?

January 22nd, 2023 3:10 PM

On Sunday's Meet the Press, anchor Chuck Todd proved once again why he's not a respected journalist and should be considered nothing more than a Democrat Party hack. During an interview with liberal South Carolina Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace, Todd asked her what it will take for conservatives to abandon their beliefs in life and surrender to the abortionists. At one point Todd asked if they need to lose a few more elections until they submit.

After a long rant from Mace about how she's sought to find a "middle ground" with the abortion-loving left and how conservatives should do the same in order to win elections, Todd responded that he hears "where you’re trying to go and I hear what you’re trying to do, fortunately, you’ve got folks who see it as a morality issue or as a personal freedom issue, and so compromising either your morals or your freedoms is very difficult to do."

Todd then asked Mace if she thinks "we're not ready yet in our politics, we need to go through a few more cycles," he then wondered if Republicans need to lose more elections: "do you think your party needs to lose more on this issue before more folks look at it the way you look at it?"

In other words, Republicans are losing because they stand up against the slaughter of unborn babies, and in order to gain power for themselves, they need to roll over and let the left continue exterminating the most innocent among us.

Of course, Mace went right along with the narrative Todd was trying to push about why Republicans didn't win the number of House seats they were expected to. Instead, she agreed with Todd and falsely claimed "it's the reason we didn't get more of a majority. We should have had a dozen or two dozen-seat majority this legislative session, but we don't. Because this is one of the issues that was top of mind for swing voters."

"And when you're looking ahead to '24, whether it’s keeping the majority or trying to win the White House going to the extremes and digging in there isn't going to work for most people," Mace proclaimed.

To leftists in the media like Todd, there is no position that the left can hold on abortion that's too extreme. But God forbid conservatives want to save babies, that's just too controversial and is costing them elections.

CHUCK TODD: Look, I hear where you’re trying to go and I hear what you’re trying to do, fortunately, you’ve got folks who see it as a morality issue or as a personal freedom issue, and so compromising either your morals or your freedoms is very difficult to do. Do you think this is just we're not ready yet in our politics, we need to go through a few more cycles. Do you think your party needs to lose more on this issue before more folks look at it the way you look at it?

REP. NANCY MACE: Well, it's the reason we didn't get more of a majority. We should have had a dozen or two dozen-seat majority this legislative session, but we don't. Because this is one of the issues that was top of mind for swing voters. And when you're looking ahead to '24, whether it’s keeping the majority or trying to win the White House going to the extremes and digging in there isn't going to work for most people.
