Third in One Week: NBC Ignores Terrorist Attacks in Israel

March 29th, 2022 10:26 PM

After the third mass shooting attack in Tel Aviv, Israel in the past week in which eleven people were killed by a Palestinian, NBC Nightly News refused to cover the story. Only ABC's World News Tonight, CBS Evening News, and Fox News's Special Report managed to find time to report on the attacks.

NBC had time to report on the weather and Queen Elizabeth's tribute to Prince Phillip, so they had no excuse not to cover the latest terrorist attack against innocent Israelis at the hands of a Palestinian terrorist. On ABC, anchor David Muir reported on the attacks:

We're learning more about the terror in Tel Aviv. A deadly assault in a suburb of Tel Aviv. The third attack in Israel in a week. Amateur video shown on Israeli TV showing a man dressed in black carrying an assault rifle, shooting at people on a street. Five people were fatally shot before police arrived. Police then killed the attacker. An Israeli police officer was among those who died. The gunman reportedly a Palestinian from the West Bank.

On CBS, anchor Norah O'Donnell described the situation in her report claiming "tensions are rising in Israel tonight after officials say at least four people were killed when a gunman opened fire in a crowded ultraorthodox city just east of Tel Aviv."

She noted that while the "motive is not immediately clear" the shooting is the "latest in a string of attacks by Arab assailants. This is ahead of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan."

Over on Fox News Channel's Special Report, anchor Bret Baier revealed that the suspect was "on a motorcycle opened fire in a crowded city in central Israel."

This latest example of bias by omission on NBC was made possible by Liberty Mutual. Their information is linked.
