Elitist Media Sunday Shows OMIT RAF Fairford Terror Plot, Some Ran Iranian PR

Anyone looking to the Elitist Media’s Sunday shows for breaking news on the thwarted terrorist attack at Britain's Fairford Royal Air Force Base and home to several U.S. Air force units, was sorely disappointed. None of the shows on ABC, CBS, NBC or CNN covered the potential attack. CBS and NBC did, however, feature their regularly scheduled interviews with leaders of the Iranian terror state.

TRUMP: It may have been Scotland Yard, I don't know, we worked with a lot of them. We had them under view for a long time, and we got them.

JACQI HEINRICH: All right. President Trump, just moments ago, giving some details about the five people arrested in the U.K. for a suspected terror plot near RAF Fairford Air Base- that base has been used by the U.S. during the Iran War. Stephanie Bennett is in London tracking this story for us. Stephanie, what is the latest here?

STEPHANIE BENNETT: Hey, Jacqui. British counterterrorism police are now leading this investigation. This happening, of course, in the middle of the night just outside the Royal Air Force base in Fairford, in the town of Welford. That’s roughly 100 miles west of London. Gloucestershire Police say around 12:45 this morning they received a call for three suspicious vehicles traveling towards RAF Fairford. Armed officers responded and arrested five men on suspicion of committing offenses under the Explosives Act. They were taken into custody where they remain. 85 homes were also evacuated while the Army's Bomb Disposal Team examined those vehicles, at times using a robot.

RICHARD OCONE: The emergency services have well-rehearsed plans for dealing with major incidents such as this. Work to establish the full nature of this is ongoing, and we are in constant communication with our partners both locally and nationally.

BENNETT: Gloucestershire Police are asking the public not to speculate. However, we do know that RAF Fairford hosts the headquarters of the U.S. Air Force's 501th Combat Support Wing and the 420th Airbase Squadron. It's also been used by American forces for limited strikes in the Iran war. A government spokesperson tells Fox the Prime Minister is receiving updates, and they are grateful to emergency services. Police say the situation appears to be contained, but security measures have been stepped up, and they are still out there investigating at this time. Jacqui.

Pretty straightforward stuff: a terror attack planned for a base that houses U.S. Air Force units and which has a role in the ongoing operation against the Iranian terror regime. The story broke early enough in the morning that the Sunday shows COULD have run a segment or interview on it. Alas, that didn’t happen. All plowed ahead with their regularly scheduled rundowns. CBS and NBC continued the media’s campaign of platforming the Iranian point of view.

Before interviewing Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, NBC’s Kristen Welker sat down with the United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz. The most interesting question Welker DIDN’T ask Aragchi was the one Waltz called for:

DONALD TRUMP: We blew up their nuclear potential. It was obliterated. We attacked. Ten months ago, we attacked their nuclear sites and they were obliterated. It’s not a quagmire. I just wiped out the military of a very dangerous country. And I wiped out the nuclear threat –

KRISTEN WELKER: So the president has said multiple times that Iran’s nuclear potential is destroyed. If that’s the case, what is left to accomplish in this war?

WALTZ: Well, we know that we obliterated their ability to enrich in a number of these facilities. But we also know they moved and dispersed highly enriched uranium. Again, Kristen, there is no reason. No country on Earth with a peaceful civilian program has a need to enrich to weapons-grade or just short of weapons-grade. So they still have that hidden and dispersed —

WELKER: But what’s left to do on the nuclear side —

WALTZ: And again, the UN has said they’re not —

WELKER: And is regime change necessary to achieve it

WALTZ: —But the UN has said they’re not being accountable for it.

WELKER: So is regime change —

WALTZ: I’m sorry.

WELKER: — what’s necessary to accomplish what you’re going for? What is there left to accomplish? And is regime change necessary to do it?

WALTZ: I, well, look, I mean, the regime can come to the table and in accordance with international law, in accordance with their obligations in the non-proliferation treaty and either hand over. I mean, there’s a number of ways that we can get there. And President Trump is open to that and deal with the highly enriched, deal with their ability to reconstitute their enrichment. Heck, our negotiators even offered to sell them uranium. And again the United Arab Emirates have a peaceful program right there in their neighborhood. And they abide by international law and inspection regimes. The Iranians refuse to as stated by the UN just a week ago. So this is, I think the facts are obvious here.

WELKER: All right.

WALTZ: And by the way, Kristen, I hope that you also ask the foreign minister about the 40,000 of their own people that were machine gunned —

WELKER: All right —

WALTZ: — in the streets and the people that are being hung right now as we speak, again, condemned by the world for massacring their own people.

Araghchi was listening live as Welker went to him shortly after getting called out by Waltz. He looked sort of freaked out as he went live, but ultimately had nothing to worry about. Welker did not ask the murdered protesters question.

CBS also chose to platform the murderous Iranian regime. Margaret Brennan pre-recorded a sit-down with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for Face the Nation. For a sample, consider their exchange on the health and well-being of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei:

MARGARET BRENNAN: You said you met twice with the Supreme Leader. You're a doctor by training. You're a physician. What did you make of his recovery from the injuries he sustained in the U.S.-Israeli strikes that killed his father and his family?

MASOUD PEZESHKIAN: No, there's no specific ongoing health issues or challenges. On the last occasion when we met for seven-plus hours, of course we were not used to being in seated positions for those many hours. We changed angles and positions, we crossed our legs and so on. But, of course, he was healthy enough to be able to withstand those hours of that situation. From a medical standpoint, he's completely healthy. Hear this from me as a physician, and accept it. He has no issues. They targeted an entire family—about whom they kept saying they're living underground, they're escaping, they're in hiding. How is it that they claim the high ground when it comes to human rights and humanity? 

BRENNAN: But the Supreme Leader, you said, was able to conduct this meeting. He has- his legs and his face have recovered?

PEZESHKIAN: Yes.

BRENNAN: He was able to sit on the ground?

PEZESHKIAN: Yes.

BRENNAN: Did he advise you on this diplomacy? Does he want a deal with the United States?

PEZESHKIAN: Everything that we spoke of and about and had discussions about were shaped through coordination. There is a team that has been put in place in Iran, consisting of six members of various organizations, security forces, parliamentary representatives, government agencies, and they sit and conduct talks, consultations about decision-making processes, and reach any decisions through coordination. This has taken place quite comfortably in our country. 

You’ll be shocked (or not) to learn that the President of Iran got a far more deferential and respectful interview than do American Republican politicians. There were no constant interruptions here, no “Faces of Margaret” on display. Brennan did ask the protesters question, but unfortunately let Pezeshkian say there were armed protesters shooting at the military. 

This is how this shameful week concluded for our Elitist Media: platforming the murderous Iranian regime when not narcissistically covering itself in the face of the White House press ban. If ever you wondered why the media have lost America’s trust, this week makes it clear.
