Dem Congresswoman: Minorities Fleeing Biden Because of 'Feelings', Lack of Civics Education

November 6th, 2023 2:24 PM

The left's meltdown over polling that shows President Joe Biden trailing former President Donald Trump in several key states is well underway. And some are already smearing minority voters as they begin to turn on Biden over such issues as inflation, high food and energy costs, and crime.

Watch as Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) joins the panel on CNN's State of the Union, and attributes the minority shift away from Democrats due to "feelings" and a lack of civics education (!):

CNN STATE OF THE UNION

DANA BASH:  Congresswoman Crockett, Karen (Finney) just talked about warning signs across the board, but particularly when it comes to people of color. The New York Times, and they're right about it, says: “in a remarkable sign in a gradual racial realignment between the two parties, the more diverse the swing state, the farther Mr. Biden was behind. And he led only in the whitest of six”.

U.S. REP. JASMINE CROCKETT (D-TX): Yeah, no, it's really scary for me. I'm glad that Karen, the expert, is not as scared, because: here’s the deal. Perception is reality. And so, when you look at the data that was provided in this poll, it talks about how people feel. And when people decide whether they’re going to the poll or whether they’re not going to the poll, it’s all about how you feel in that moment. And so, while the facts may not align with their feelings, their feelings are dictating the reality- the reality is that they said that they feel better, or they felt better, when Trump was in office. But we've been trying to push back. We've got some very popular African-American artists that are out here saying things like, “Oh, I got checks when Trump was in office. I want those checks again”, not understanding that that really came from Congress. So we’ve got a couple of things: the perception issue, and then we also have an issue as it relates to civics in this country and people not understanding exactly how any of this works.

When called upon to try to shed some rationale on why minority voters are seemingly fleeing Democrats, Congresswoman Crockett's response was to belittle those voters who are exercising their independent judgement- first by suggesting that they were being led by their feelings, and then by suggesting that they lacked proper civics education. In other words, Crockett infers that minorities opposed to Biden are both emotional and uneducated. Take that in for a second, as you imagine the outrage were a Republican to make similar assertions.

Crockett's statements, issued as her co-panelists looked on and offered no pushback, echoes Biden's "you ain't black" line from 2020.

For corporate media to allow such statements to go uncontested is further proof evident of the left's expectation that minorities will simply follow along. Hence this latest freakout over polling.

And how long before we hear the old "disinformation" canard being trotted out?

Then again, it's hard to talk about people being disinformed when ground beef is over six dollars a pound, ergo the "feelings" argument.
