Ed Schultz Gloats on Podcast over ‘Freaking Loser’ Scott Walker Dropping Out; ‘I Feel Vindicated’

September 22nd, 2015 6:21 PM

Reduced to a daily podcast after his MSNBC show was cancelled in July, liberal Ed Schultz spent the first minute and a half of his Tuesday podcast basking in the departure of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker from the 2016 Republican field and slamming Walker as “a freaking loser” and “embarrassment” who lacks “the academic credentials or the intelligence to be president of the United States.”

Schultz further proclaimed that he “feels vindicated” by Walker’s inability to secure the nomination and accused the conservative governor of being “a hack” and “good news for Republicans” because “his ego was as big as Asia.”

Roughly 33 seconds into the 22-minute podcast, Schultz took off running in trying to play the role of chief Republican prognosticator by diagnosing what Walker’s exit means for the GOP:

Scott Walker out of the race is good news for the Republicans because all he was doing was getting in the way. He has no idea, he’s never had an ideas and his ego was as big as Asia. We all knew this was going to happen, we just didn’t know it was going to happen this fast.

Running Walker’s supposed campaign strategy through his pro-union prism, Schultz hyped that Walker planned “to take things away from other Americans” and become the candidate of the Koch brothers:

The strategy of Walker all along has been to take things away from other Americans, take away their bargaining rights, take away their voice in the workplaces, take away their health care, take a billion dollars from education. He thought that was a plan and pathway for America and he thought the Koch brothers if he got on bended knee often enough that the Koch brothers were going to make him a candidate. It didn’t happen.

The diatribe continued as the boisterous lefty shouted that Walker remains “an embarrassment,” “a political disgrace, a hack” in addition to the claim by the Minnesota State University Moorhead graduate and former college football player that “he doesn’t have the academic credentials or the intelligence to be president of the United States.”

Taking a brief moment to rehash the three elections where Walker emerged victorious, Schultz brushed over his wins against Democrats Schultz vehemently backed:

What we have learned from Scott Walker throughout all of these months is that you can do a helluva lot with an ego. His own party in Wisconsin is now rejecting. So, he won three elections in four years? He outfunded in the recall seven to one and ran against the recall. There were also for the Democrats when it came to the reelection in 2012.

Schultz wrapped up this first portion of his podcast with a bang in gushing that Walker’s exit “seriously is a good move for America” because “[t]he guy’s a freaking loser” along with declaring that: “I feel vindicated. I knew along that attacking workers, attacking unions, and taking things away from hard working families is not a pathway to the future. Walker, maybe he’ll go back to Milwaukee and run for dog catcher.”
