Supercut: Media Devastated by Joyful Maskless Airline Passengers

April 20th, 2022 12:43 PM

This week, the applause of airline passengers celebrating their first masked flights in years was met with sullen glares and stern warnings from TV news’s greatest health experts.

The Biden Administration’s mask mandate was struck down Monday by Federal Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, much to the chagrin of the mask-loving media. Legal and medical experts alike were immediately shoved in front of cameras to remind viewers that, “this was a legal decision, not a public health decision.”

Behold the media’s ashen faces as a key plank in their COVID-forever platform gave way:

On Tuesday’s edition of All In With Chris Hayes, MSNBC fill-in host Ayman Mohyeldin suddenly discovered the concept of judicial overreach just in time to have a serious problem with Mizelle’s ruling:

One federal judge can now overturn the will of the public health experts in this country, who are actually tasked with keeping us healthy in the middle of a pandemic. And why? Because that judge, who is rated unqualified to be a judge, has the sole power to loosely or narrowly interpret the word “sanitation” and change the rules for hundreds of millions of Americans.

Then came the kicker: “The person responsible for all of this is U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, a former clerk for Justice Clarence Thomas who was appointed by none other than Donald Trump."

CNN medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta worried that the ruling would make kindergarteners feel unsafe: “Children under the age of five, who have not been able to be vaccinated, again, feeling more comfortable in a masked environment, suddenly were not in a masked environment.”

As CNN viewers know, expressing concern for children is a racist dog whistle. One can only hope that somebody from Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice was watching this segment, because this kind of rhetoric merits a thorough investigation.
