Chieng Thinks Iranian Propaganda Is Better Than White House Memes

Comedy Central’s Ronny Chieng took some time on Thursday’s episode of The Daily Show to examine a different aspect of the war with Iran: the internet meme battle. According to Chieng, Iran’s Lego propaganda video is much better than the memes the White House has been putting out.

After reacting to a local news reporter claiming Iran has been mocking President Trump in its videos, Chieng teed up a clip by sarcastically taunting Iran, “Mocking President Trump? No one's ever thought of that! Big deal. Look, no offense, Iran, but you're not exactly known as a cultural powerhouse, okay, so good luck impressing Americans with your little videos.”

In the video, a frantic and confused Lego Trump is shown running around in dismay that his attempt to distract from the Epstein files has failed while a Lego rocket with “Loser” printed on its side targets U.S. troops and a rapper sings, “The secrets are leaking, the pressure is rising, we locked on the target, and now you are hiding, L-O-S-E-R! Yeah, we spelling out your name! Sent them to the slaughter! You the only one to blame!”

As the studio audience hooted and hollered, Chieng expressed his appreciation of the song and wondered if the White House could top it, “Holy shit! Did—what was going on there? Is there a sequel to Lego Movie that I don't know about? Did I just see Iran fire a Lego loser rocker at Lego Trump? I mean, look, do I support Iran propaganda? No. Could it end up in my Spotify Wrapped? Absolutely. I mean, I kind of can't wait for Iran to headline Coachella next year. But if the ayatollah can do that, you know, I bet Donald Trump and his virgin-maxxing memelords can go even harder. Show them what you got, Trump!”

The White House meme featured a video of an explosion followed by a clip of SpongeBob SquarePants asking, “Do you want to see me do it again?” followed by an airstrike on a drone launcher followed by the same SpongeBob clip.

An unamused Chieng retorted, “What the [bleep] was that? That was the shittiest meme ever! How is Trump bad at this? What was the point of electing a cyberbully if he sucks at cyberbullying? I was worried we might be the bad guys in this war, but after seeing this diss track, I'm realizing it's much worse. We're Drake.”

While Chieng and other comedy shows fall in love with Iran’s AI propaganda Lego cartoons, the White House video featured examples of actual successes. Iran’s Lego videos aren’t even that good. They just tell anti-Trump liberals what they already believe, which is how The Daily Show’s “progressive” audience can end up laughing with a clerical, terrorist regime.
