Jerry Springer Endorses 'Witty' Keith Olbermann as Jon Stewart's Successor

Tabloid TV host Jerry Springer sang the praises of the supposedly "smart," "funny," and "witty" Keith Olbermann in a Wednesday post on Twitter, and proposed that the former MSNBC host should become Jon Stewart's successor at The Daily Show.

Olbermann certainly has the ability to be unintentionally funny. Back in January 2014, the left-wing ESPN personality admitted, "I've never fought the word genius when people have said that about me."

The former MSNBC host also has been the subject of humor. Al Roker teased fellow Today anchor Matt Lauer after the latter announced in April 2012 that NBC had renewed his contract: "Yeah, because it was either you or Keith Olbermann." Roker's one-liner prompted an uproar of laughter on the morning show set. At the time, Olbermann had just been fired from his job at the now-defunct Current TV.

As for Springer's "witty" label, there's more evidence that Olbermann is over-the-top, to say the least, as the Media Research Center documented in a June 2011 Profile in Bias.
