PROPAGANDA: Latino Nets Deploy Caravan Kids As Human Shields

October 26th, 2021 5:31 PM

As the Mother of All Caravans crossed into Mexico on its way to the United States, the Hispanic media attempted to win sympathy for their cause – that is, to ensure a steady audience via open borders – by shifting their focus from the usual activists and weary migrants, over to the “thousand-plus children that are a part of it and who were placed out front as a sign of peace.”

Far from being “a sign of peace,” using children as human shields in order to keep migration agents and the Mexican National Guard at bay is a sign of cowardice. As you can see in this video compilation, small children have been shoved in front of a swarm of healthy, grown men and women, and are lionized as marching “with the same intensity and the same faith as the men.” It is no coincidence that American television cameras were on hand to memorialize this display:

ALEJANDRO MADRIGAL, UNIVISION: The soul of the caravan is the thousand-plus children that are a part of it and who were placed out front as a sign of peace.

(....)

RAUL TORRES, TELEMUNDO: Uh, there was a different strategy yesterday from other days. Women and children are the ones who went to the front of the caravan. They did it to set the pace and so that the group would be more compact and so as not to leave so many people behind and there, under the gaze of the migration agents and the national guard, they were setting the pace.

(....)

TORRES: Women and children took the lead. They moved with the same intensity and the same faith as the men

(....)

TORRES: Until we saw some trucks pass by with members of the national guard, and then it was decided that the men would once again lead the caravan.

(Children´s laughter)

(....)

TORRES: No one could be happier. Some on the swings, others on the slides. They just want the same thing as their parents: A better life.

(....)

ARANXTA LOIZAGA, TELEMUNDO: For this report, it’s important to point out that the Secretary of Homeland Security has said that these caravans will not succeed, they will not pass into the United States.

It is important to note that while Telemundo and Univision went out of their way to portray the migrant children - some of whom were barefoot - as the happiest on earth, a bitter truth awaits them, as anchor Aranxta Loizaga soberly reminded the audience.

Loizaga, from the Telemundo morning show Hoy Día, made a point to add that "the Secretary of Homeland Security (Alejandro Mayorkas) has said that these caravans will not succeed, they will not pass into the United States.” The record number of migrants crossing the border suggests that this is a hollow threat. U.S. Latino media know this, which is why they brazenly exploit children as a storytelling device in furtherance of their corporate agenda.
