A major migrant caravan is making its way towards the southern border of United States, but you’d never know about it if you depended on network evening news for information. This is, like Biden-Burisma corruption and so many other stories, another news item to be suppressed lest it make the Biden administration look bad (or any worse).
Neither ABC, CBS, nor NBC have made any mention of the 8,000+ caravan that departed Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico last week. Univision and Telemundo did cover this caravan, but from a pro-immigration angle as is their custom. The caravan is useful as a source of migrant storytelling. Watch this emblematic portion of a Telemundo report that does just that:
VANESSA HAUC: The caravan that has been advancing through southern Mexico already has over 8,000 migrants. It is the largest that has been formed since June of 2022. The group is made up of whole families, mothers with children, elderly people. The majority are citizens of Central America, the Caribbean and Venezuela. We now connect with Mrs. Leticia Cepeda. She is a member of the caravan, she is from Guatemala, and is traveling with her 2 children. Good afternoon, Mrs. Leticia. First of all, I want you to tell me how you are doing - what the journey has been like.
LETICIA CEPEDA: Yes, good afternoon, we are on our way here in the caravan. We come from Guatemala and as I mentioned, I bring my 2 children, my brother-in-law is coming with his children and his wife. We already have 3 days- 4 days of walking (unint). We are already in pain, sore. I even collapsed because, well, my defenses are weakened from walking so much, right? But, well, the government here has not given us any answer on whether it is going to collaborate with the (unint) to be able to go up north, I think that is the goal that we all have.
The networks that cast Hispanics as victims harvest these migrant victim stories which are then fed to their audiences stateside. Even so, that is far more on the caravan that has been shown to viewers of ABC, CBS, NBC which instead got pumped full of AI-enhanced Beatlemania and the AI-aggravated SAG-AFTRA strike.

The majority. What about the rest? Given both what is happening in Gaza and the record influx of individuals on the terror watch list crossing our southern border: shouldn’t we know? Do these networks not have a duty to report on this massive caravan?

HAUC: Were you aware of the dangers of this trip, that is, how difficult this journey was going to be before leaving your country?
CEPEDA: Well, it's difficult there in our country. We don't have housing, there is no work, so from now on, even if they return us or tell us that we have to wait here, we wait. Even so, there are no possibilities in our country and that is why we undertook this trip.
HAUC: Tell us the reason why you left Guatemala.
CEPEDA: Well, we have - my husband and I had a business and we got extorted, the gang members started extorting us and started asking for money. We had to close the business and then, we have audios and we filed complaints there but it doesn't seem to go anywhere, so that's why we had to emigrate.
HAUC: So, do you expect to arrive and quickly ask for political asylum?
CEPEDA: That's right, that's my hope because my children were in danger there in Guatemala because if we don't pay the extortion then they will kidnap them. They run to them to (unint) for what they say.
HAUC: What has been the most difficult part of these last days, of course, leaving your home and leaving your family, your country. But what has been the hardest for you, Mrs. Leticia?
CEPEDA: ¿Here on the journey, the hardest thing?
HAUC: Yes. What has been the most difficult thing for you in recent days?
CEPEDA: Walking, the hike, we don't have enough money and we have to endure hunger. So- and where to sleep? Well, we sleep in the street, wherever the rain and nightfall catches us, and so everything is difficult. It has been very difficult.
HAUC: You are hopeful that you will be able to enter the United States - because you know it is difficult, right? That is, entry into the United States.
CEPEDA: Yes (unint) our goal in the name of God is to get there and be able to request asylum.
HAUC: Of course. Well, I thank you for your time and thank you very much for having spoken with us.
CEPEDA: Well, thank you very much, good day.
OCTAVIO PULIDO: These migrants face a very complicated situation. The caravan is expected to arrive first in Mexico City, at the Basilica of Guadalupe, and then head to the southern border of the United States.
