Univision Anchor Calls Obama Order 'Executive Amnesty'

I’ve always said that one of the characteristics of conservatism is a willingness to identify a thing by its proper name, and we know that conservative tendencies do not exactly run rampant throughout our newsrooms. So you can imagine my shock when I heard Univision’s late-night anchor properly refer to President Obama’s executive amnesty action as…President Obama’s executive amnesty. Here it is, in all its narrative-destroying glory:

ARANTXA LOIZAGA, ANCHOR: We’ve received more details in the newsroom regarding actions taken by the Republican governor of Texas, Greg Abbott. He announced that a federal judge has accepted his request to block the executive amnesty order for undocumented (immigrants) under the DAPA program, which is the immigration relief granted to parents of legal residents, including U.S. citizens. This is the information we have up to the moment.

The network, of course, reverted to old form in record time; by decrying the injunction, by attempting to discredit the judge that issued the preliminary injunction, and by reminding their viewers of who the “bad guys” really are.

As always, it is anchor Jorge Ramos who sets the network’s narrative line.
