China or U.S.? Sen. Grassley Slams Twitter’s 2020 Election Interference

“Simply put, what they did is expected of communist China not the United States of America.”

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) slammed Twitter’s censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, revealed in the “Twitter Files,” as election interference.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk and journalist Matt Taibbi have released the first installment of the Twitter Files on the platform’s election-altering censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020. Grassley delivered prepared remarks on the Senate floor  Dec. 7, highlighting Twitter’s 2020 election interference. “The documents make clear that Twitter was effectively an arm of the Democratic Party and the Biden campaign,” Grassley stated.

Grassley noted that the revelations show the Biden campaign’s involvement with Twitter’s censorship efforts and highlighted Twitter employees’ awareness that “they had no legitimate basis” to censor the Hunter Biden scandal, but suppressed it anyway. That includes censoring the reporting and those who shared it.

The senator highlighted four key problems uncovered in the Twitter Files. First, the FBI warned of “future hacked material” in weekly meetings with Twitter. Second, the FBI wrongly labeled the Hunter Biden information it already had as “disinformation.”

Third, the FBI gave Grassley and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) an “unnecessary” briefing in August 2020, that “was used by some Democrats and the liberal media to try and undermine our Biden investigation,” Grassley said. Finally, leftist media falsely labeled the senators’ Biden investigation “Russian disinformation,” he noted.

“All of that happened in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election,” Grassley emphasized. “President Biden still owes the American people answers about his connections to Hunter and James Biden’s business deals and arrangements.”

The senators’ original 2020 reports on the Biden family’s China ties were “swept up into the Hunter Biden censorship fiasco,” Grassley wrote.

But Big Tech did not succeed in suppressing the Biden family scandals forever, Grassley noted. Johnson and Grassley delivered multiple speeches on the floor of the Senate in 2022 highlighting bank records on Hunter and James Biden’s connections with China. They also sent U.S. Attorney David Weiss hundreds of pages of these records, proving that the 2020 investigation’s connections were accurate, and not “Russian disinformation” as alleged.

Thus, leftist media and politicians censored and falsely labeled the senators’ reports, Grassley explained. “They went into full Joe Biden protection mode.”

Grassley concluded his speech: “Big Tech censorship may have succeeded in the short term; however, the truth eventually sees the light of day.”
