Trump Calls Out COVID-19 Tyrants, Censorship in New Video

Former President Donald J. Trump is speaking out against online censorship related to COVID-19 in a new video posted by his campaign on Twitter, now known as “X.”

In the video posted Wednesday, Trump responded to extreme responses proposed to combat potential new COVID-19 variants, like un-American lockdowns and the return of censorship of any so-called “misinformation” about the pandemic. “They want to restart the COVID hysteria so they can justify more lockdowns, more censorship …,” Trump said.

Trump, who is running for the GOP nomination for president, discussed several other topics in his video, but the ultimate message was one of defiance against big government controlling the daily lives of average Americans.

“To every COVID tyrant who wants to take away our freedoms, hear these words, ‘We will not comply’ so don’t even think about it,” he said, later adding, “They will fail because we will not let it happen.”

MRC Free Speech America has long warned about the federal government’s collusion with Big Tech social media companies to censor certain views about COVID-19.

A 2022 MRC Free Speech America study revealed 808 total cases of COVID-19 censorship across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. March 17, 2020, and Feb. 3, 2022, in its unique database. Anyone who held views outside of the left’s or government’s narrative about COVID-19 was subject to censorship, even renowned epidemiologists and scientists.

The database was designed to record the extent of Big Tech censorship. The database has logged a total of  5,873 overall cases of censorship on social media platforms for different opinions on elections, COVID-19, climate change, race and other topics.
