Planned Parenthood VP: Being Pro-Life Is Anti-Woman

Pro-life is anti-women, according to Planned Parenthood. If you are against it, then you are no different than an incel or someone who is involuntarily celibate.

Dawn Laguens, the Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood, wrote an article on Thursday titled The Patriarchy is Wobbling where she claims, “[t]he anti-women, anti-autonomy agenda” is why “Planned Parenthood is always a target.”

She praised Ireland for “trusting women” by “restoring women’s right to make decisions about their bodies and their health.” Then said that President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence’s pro-life stance are, “pandering to a tiny sliver of voters who are deeply invested in maintaining the longstanding, lopsided distribution of power, by resisting the rights of more than half the population.”

She implied that being pro-life would be against a woman’s best interest. If a woman’s body isn’t her own then, “we [women] cannot be free, and we cannot be equal.”

Pro-life men are terrified of “women with power” and instead what to keep “women below them,” she wrote and use “regressive laws” to keep women “in their place” Men do this by sexually harassing women, referencing the scandal of NBC anchor Matt Lauer, and restricting their abortion access.

She argued that restricting access to abortions and birth control and turning the “Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program into an abstinence-only-until-marriage program” is harmful to women everywhere.

Laguens claimed that, if you believe otherwise, you are no different than “the homicidal violence of “incels” — a group of men organizing online who believe they’re entitled to sex with women.” Icels are “threads in the same ideological quilt” as the pro-life movement. Each is about “controlling our [woman’s] bodies and our lives.”
