Get Woke, Go Broke: Disney Edition

It goes without saying that Disney has been one of the biggest supporters of woke ideology in recent years, particularly the LGBT agenda. While it seemingly has gotten away with its vomit-inducing support of all things gay for a while, its actions may be catching up with its bottom line.

Disney CEO Bob Chapek reported that Disney will have to make significant layoffs within their company and enact a targeted hiring freeze while also restricting traveling privileges for current employees.

“I am fully aware this will be a difficult process for many of you and your teams. We are going to have to make tough and uncomfortable decisions. But that is just what leadership requires, and I thank you in advance for stepping up during this important time,” Chapek wrote in a letter to top company executives.

The CEO also said that he will be conducting a “rigorous review of the company’s content and marketing spending.” It better be an effective one too, because Disney’s shares have dropped 62 percent since the start of the year.

But I don’t think that Disney has to do a whole lot of digging or honest introspection to figure out what exactly is going wrong here.

For the past several years, Disney has jumped way into the deep end on creating content that pushes gender-confusion ideologies. While that alone is enough to make you want to blow chunks, what makes it especially infuriating is that the majority of Disney’s content is made for children, who are impressionable and susceptible to believing what they see in their favorite movies and shows (though this content is not just in kids entertainment).

Just a handful of popular releases that have such content are “Better Nate Than Never,” “Diary of a Future President,” and Marvel’s “Eternals” (Disney owns Marvel). LGBT content is everywhere in Disney’s product, you can hardly open Disney+ without being inundated by it.

It’s far from the only explanation for Disney’s cataclysmic drop-off in profits, but based on a growing contingent of people who have the courage to stand up to Disney’s agenda, its one that carries a lot of weight.
