As 2018 comes to a close, NewsBusters is recounting the most obnoxious liberal bias of the year. In today’s installment, we have the most outrageous examples of journalists fawning over liberal or left-wing icons. Examples include MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell gushing over Barack Obama: “His mind is too supple, too complex, too rich compared to my own.”
To hear the media tell it - Donald Trump activated racists this election cycle, was singularly responsible for border violence and is literally going to kill us all by burning up the planet. The following are the worst liberal outbursts over the past month from lefty journalists and celebrities:
It’s not just President Donald Trump, White House press secretaries Sean Spicer and Sarah Huckabee Sanders who think Jim Acosta is out of control. Even some of his journalist colleagues think his antics are bad for journalism.
The hype started way back in February when the New York Times’s Michael Tackett fantasized about Democratic candidate Beto O’Rourke’s campaign embodying “a sense of the possible.” The “Turning Texas Blue” dream continued with Late Show host Stephen Colbert, in March, proclaiming: “Texas might be feeling the Beto-mentum, because so far this year, O’Rourke out-raised Ted Cruz by $1.5 million.” The following is just a sampling of the out-of-control media love for Beto O’Rourke and his Quixotic attempt to turn Texas blue.
Celebrities that are sick of Donald Trump and the GOP have spent the few weeks leading up to today’s midterms crying about the “raving lunatic” President as they stoked their liberal fans to get to the polls to halt the GOP’s “nascent fascism.” Comedian Rosie O’Donnell even called for a coup: “I want to send the military to the White House to get him.” The following are just some of the worst examples of celebrities losing their minds in the closing days before the midterms.
In the closing days before the midterm elections the liberal media went mad in their attacks on the GOP and especially President Donald Trump as they blamed his “racist” and violent rhetoric for the crazed actions of both the mail bomber and synagogue shooter. On CNN, a correspondent for GQ raged: “This President has radicalized so many more people than ISIS ever did.” The following are the worst attacks on Trump and the GOP from their midterm election coverage.
To hear the liberal media tell it, you’d think Donald Trump and the Republicans are solely responsible for lowering the public discourse. Yet, many prominent Democrats in this election cycle have uttered heinous and insulting words about public figures and treated their fellow Americans terribly, but you probably never heard about them if you only got your news from the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) network news shows.
While the liberal media have been obsessed with blaming Donald Trump’s rhetoric for provoking the man who sent letter bombs to Democrats and CNN last week, they barely mentioned that the man who shot at Republicans on a baseball in 2017 was motivated by anti-GOP hatred.
On Tuesday, former Wall Street Journal and Roll Call reporter Glenn Simpson – who co-founded the Fusion GPS Group that commissioned the infamous anti-Trump dossier – refused to testify to the House Judiciary Committee. This key development in the Russia investigation has yet to be reported by any of the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks on their evening or morning shows.
As the midterms fast approach, there are a bunch of Democrats who find themselves embroiled in scandals and controversies. But if you only got your news from the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks, you’ve probably never heard about them. From Texas Senate Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke lying about his DUI arrest to DNC chair Keith Ellison being accused of domestic violence, the following is a list of Democratic controversies that the nets are keeping their audiences (for the most part) in the dark about:
The liberal media’s joint effort with the Democratic Party to destroy Brett Kavanaugh was so blatant that fully 45 percent of those polled by The Hill determined that the media’s coverage of the hearings was slanted against the new Supreme Court Justice
Liberal journalists lost their collective minds during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process as they filled their programs with dire predictions for the “millions of women” that will be “annihilated.” Lefty celebrities also went nuts. Actress Molly Ringwald condemned the GOP as the “Rape Party.” The following are the most recent examples of liberal journalists and celebrities going crazy over the Kavanaugh confirmation.
Just imagine if there was video of Brett Kavanaugh groping a flight attendant – the footage would be all over the network and cable news shows right now. But when footage of President Bill Clinton grabbing a flight attendant’s knee was revealed, it was only a small part of a 1998 ABC World News Tonight segment that praised then Clinton aide/confidante Bruce Lindsey.
With the midterm elections fast approaching liberal journalists have begun paving the way for a blue wave of Democratic wins. This past month saw the media hype machine pump-up Texas Democratic Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke as the “antidote” to the “Trump era.” His opponent, incumbent Ted Cruz, was derided as the “type of man who would sell his family into slavery” to get elected. Lefty writers, hosts and pundits also tried to rally Democratic voters by actually blaming Donald Trump for Hurricane Florence.
Jane Mayer made the network rounds, this week, promoting her New Yorker hit piece on Brett Kavanaugh, but a look at her past demonstrates why her work should be taken with biggest grains of salt as she has become a go-to author for partisan attack stories.
The Democrats and their allies in the media have spent the last few weeks laying the groundwork to destroy the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. First, they tried to say the process was “illegitimate” because Republicans held up Merrick Garland. When that didn’t work, they brought forth an uncorroborated decades-old allegation of sexual assault. The following is a look at some of the most egregious smears against Kavanaugh and Senate Republicans (so far).
Hillary Clinton, on last night’s Rachel Maddow show, insisted that the FBI investigate Christine Blasey Ford’s rape accusation against Judge Brett Kavanaugh – which is pretty audacious considering that’s something Juanita Broaddrick never got. Broaddrick noticed and called out the former First Lady on Twitter. Of course Maddow never brought up the obvious hypocrisy, as she never even mentioned Juanita Broaddrick’s name to Clinton.
We’ve seen the media and the Democrats use this playbook before. When Justice Clarence Thomas was well on his way to being confirmed in 1991, the Democrats brought forth Anita Hill to accuse Thomas of sexual harassment, in a last ditch attempt to derail his nomination. And while it remains to be seen if the media turn the Brett Kavanaugh nomination process into a similar circus it’s instructive to see what they did back then.
In 2006 Brad Pitt came to the rescue of New Orleans residents with his plan to build affordable homes for those displaced by Hurricane Katrina. There was just one problem. His liberal obsession to fight climate change – by using “cheap recycled materials” – means those homes are now falling apart.
