The liberal “Big Three” networks seemed to try everything in their power to not mention Hillary Clinton’s latest e-mail controversy Wednesday. Throughout all of their news programs, both morning and evening, they gave the e-mails a total of 6 minutes 59 seconds. In stark contrast, they dragged out Trump’s “Second Amendment people” comment with a whopping 25 minutes, 54 seconds of coverage.

Hours after MRC President Brent Bozell appeared on FNC’s Your World, NewsBusters Executive Editor Tim Graham entered the No Spin Zone of Thursday’s O’Reilly Factor to highlight for fill-in host Eric Bolling the stark disparity in network coverage of Trump’s Second Amendment slip and the father of the Orlando terrorist attending a Hillary Clinton rally. 

Speaking with Maria Bartiromo on the Fox News Channel (FNC) late Wednesday afternoon, Media Research Center President Brent Bozell blasted the media for their “incredible” double standard in spending far more time fussing over Donald Trump’s controversies while ignoring the latest Hillary Clinton gaffe with the father of the Orlando terrorist attending one of her rallies.

CBS and ABC journalists on Tuesday and Wednesday fawned over the “primal” scream actress Meryl Streep gave at the Democratic National Convention last month. Appearing on CBS This Morning, Wednesday, the movie star explained her pro-Hillary Clinton speech, saying, “I felt it was a moment in history and I felt like I was surfing this huge wave of wonderfulness.” 

On Wednesday, the discussion on Morning Joe was dominated by Trump’s Second Amendment comments yesterday as he highlighted the jeopardy the Supreme Court will be in if Hillary Clinton is elected president. Segment after segment, the co-host’s and panelists besieged the Republican nominee for his remarks that were akin to an “assassination attempt” on his Democratic opponent.

During MSNBC’s 10 a.m. ET hour on Wednesday, anchor Thomas Roberts gloated that the latest Donald Trump controversy pushed another Hillary Clinton scandal out of the headlines: “Trump’s comments continue to hurt his overall message, this time distracting from a potentially damaging release of e-mails that could have cost the Clinton camp precious support among independents.” 

Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton should have been forced to deal with campaign messes on Tuesday, but the three networks only treated the Republican’s problem as a huge gaffe worthy of extensive coverage. ABC, CBS and NBC deluged viewers with five times more coverage — 25 minutes and 35 seconds versus 4 minutes and 41 seconds —  to Trump’s “Second Amendment people” remark than they did to…

Both of this year’s leading presidential candidates have supporters on ugly, radical fringes of American political life. On Monday, Hillary Clinton held a rally in Orlando, Florida and in attendance was Seddique Mateen, the father of the Orlando nightclub terrorist, while on Tuesday, Trump used innuendo to suggest that 2nd Amendment supporters would somehow stop Clinton. In all, the nets dedicated over four times the coverage to Trump, rather than Clinton, during their Tuesday evening broadcasts. 

Reacting to Huffington Post reporter Laura Bassett highlighting during Tuesday’s Hardball that a Donald Trump advisor recently “called for Hillary to face a firing squad” for her handling of Benghazi in light of Trump’s new gun comments, MSNBC host Chris Matthews used the occasion to bloviate about how he “keep[s] wondering what she did in Benghazi” that has people so upset.

The journalists at MSNBC responded differently to gaffes by Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. On Tuesday morning it became clear that Seddique Mateen, the father of the Orlando nightclub shooter, sat directly behind Clinton at a rally in Florida. Rather than express outrage, MSNBC journalists praised the Democrat’s quick response in putting out a statement in response. 

Donald Trump spent more than 52 minutes laying out his plans for the economy in Detroit Monday. It’s an issue voters ranked as their most important, yet ABC spent only devoted 33 seconds to what Trump proposed.

TBS’s Full Frontal and host Samantha Bee won top honors on Saturday for the Outstanding Achievement in News and Information category at Saturday’s Television Critics Association awards to the glee of the TCA after being snubbed from receiving an Emmy nomination last month in favor of the shows like The Late Late Show with James Corden and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.
