At the top of Thursday’s NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer proclaimed: “Game on. Clinton and Trump gear up for their likely general election showdown....They’re two of the most unpopular candidates in recent history.” He then promised an examination of the flaws of both candidates: “This morning, the major obstacles facing both campaigns.”

With conventional wisdom pointing to both the Democrats and the Republicans having presumptive nominees the media is hyping a major fight brewing between the parties. ABC spent their Wednesday evening newscast touting how prepared the Clinton election machine was for a general election bout. “Tonight, Hillary Clinton launching her first general election attack … Backing it up with a new video,”…

MSNBC viewers were treated to two hours of Hardball Wednesday night following Donald Trump being anointed the presumptive GOP presidential nominee and while previewing the believed match-up of Trump and Hillary Clinton, host Chris Matthews and a guest mocked Hillary Clinton scandals as “garbage” and conservatives invoking the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi as deranged.

Appearing on Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward declared that the defeat of Ted Cruz in the Republican primary revealed that “Conservatism in America, in the Republican Party, is in a crisis. It just does not sell.” He argued that Cruz lost because “his ideas have not taken hold and they were totally overwhelmed by the Trump campaign.”

Hillary Clinton gave her first interview following Donald Trump being anointed as the presumptive 2016 Republican presidential nominee Wednesday afternoon and in the midst of a classic softball, scandal-free interview by CNN's Anderson Cooper, Clinton demanded her liberal media friends “make the tough decisions” and “get serious” in attacking Trump.

Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night went down to defeat in Indiana. This is her 18th primary or caucus loss to Bernie Sanders. The former Secretary of State has won an unimpressive 23 times against the aging socialist. Yet, ABC and CBS largely glossed over Clinton’s string of losses and insisted the important part is that she’ll win the nomination. 

Good Morning America’s Matthew Dowd on Wednesday offered a weird analogy for the status of Donald Trump: He’s like a Greek god from Mount Olympus. The network analyst blurted, “It's almost as if this is out of Greek mythology, right?”

Lacking any self-examination whatsoever, failed McCain campaign head and MSNBC political analyst Steve Schmidt lashed out late Wednesday evening on Mark Levin as the embodiment of “narcissism” and “self-aggrandizers” who have created a “cancer” that’s led “the demise of the conservative movement in the Republican Party.”

Senator Bernie Sanders scored a major victory in his fight against the Clinton political machine Tuesday night in the Indiana primary. Even with that victory the Hillary Clinton friendly media is still calling for Sanders to suspend his campaign and drop out of the race. “Staying in this race, aren't you effectively making it harder for the Democrats to beat the man who you say would be so bad?”…

In two separate NBC News updates on the Indiana primary, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd gushed over Donald Trump’s “breathtaking” win in the Hoosier State that offered a “knockout blow” to Ted Cruz’s campaign. Holt led off the first update at 8:43 p.m. Eastern and informed viewers that there was “a major development in the race for president...as…

Ted Cruz dropped out the race for president Tuesday night and CNN’s America’s Choice panel could barely believe their ears. After weeks of saying that Donald Trump was inevitable and his opponents should just give up, now they question the decision to drop out at this point. “Would you have dropped out tonight?” Van Jones asked of Paul Begala. 

Just as the liberal media gleefully did with Marco Rubio, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace blasted Republican Senator Ted Cruz (Tex.) early Tuesday night for simply standing up to Donald Trump and denouncing his promotion of an unsubstantiated National Enquirer story alleging Cruz’s father Rafael may have been a part of the plot to kill then-President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

In a nearly 20-minute live interview with Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell spent a mere 17 seconds asking the Democratic frontrunner about the ongoing e-mail scandal.
