First Lady Melania Trump caused a stir with the liberal media on Thursday when she wore a questionable jacket with “I really don’t care. Do you?” written on the back. She headed off to visit the children at the border who were separated from their parents. Of course, the gossip-prone media spend a considerable about of time trying to divine the secret meaning of the wardrobe choice and there were those who suggested she was saying that to the kids. CNN’s The Lead had both.
It didn’t take long for condolences to come pouring in from people across the political spectrum and throughout the media. Even with such short notice, both CBS and NBC ran news briefs on their evening programs reporting his passing. But ABC was the lone broadcast network to skip Krauthammer’s passing. And The Washing Post, where he wrote for decades, published an obituary that partially blamed him for the Iraq War.
In the three weeks since vulgar comedian, Samantha Bee disgustingly described Ivanka Trump as a “feckless c**t” who needed to seduce her father for immigration reform, TBS’s Full Frontal has seen a dramatic drop off in corporate advertisers willing to throw their financial support behind the TV-MA rated program. Although, there was a slight bump during June 20’s episode where they picked up three additional non-Turner-owned promos over the previous week.
With the stroke of a pen, President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday that would officially end the policy of separating parents and children who come across the southern border illegally. It’s what many on the right and left wanted to see happen, but for the liberal media it wasn’t enough, as CBS anchor Jeff Glor demonstrated by opining about how Trump was trying to “put out a big political fire with a few drops of ink.”
Chief Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes presented what was pitched as a CBS News investigation into state-level attorneys general who were getting a little too cozy with corporate lobbyists. But in reality, it targeted primarily Republican AGs while giving Democratic ones what amounted to a free pass. A double standard if ever there was one.
It has been a full week since the liberal broadcasts networks of ABC, CBS, and, NBC began their full-court press against President Trump’s zero-tolerance immigration policy being implemented on the U.S.-Mexico border. On Tuesday, the trio added an additional 82 minutes between their morning and evening broadcasts.
As the Media Research Center has documented over the past several days, the liberal media’s coverage of President Trump’s immigration policies have been incendiary, hyperbolic, and out of control. Since the liberal media was on an anti-Trump rampage, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson set out to put them in their place Monday night. To do that, he brought on Daily Caller editor Derek Hunter who detailed how the “diabolic” media sought to “prevent rational thought” on the immigration issue.
The liberal media’s shrill condemnation of President Trump’s zero-tolerance border enforcement policy reached a fever pitch on Monday as the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) dedicated massive amounts of time to hyperbolic assertions about the issue. The coverage from NBC Nightly News was arguably out of control seeing as anchor Lester Host asked a Border Patrol agent if he understood he was "the bad guy."
On Thursday, CNN analyst and Playboy reporter, Brian Karem had an absolute meltdown during the White House press briefing where he screamed at Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the administration’s immigration policies. The rage-fueled outburst was lauded by some and condemned by many, but during an appearance on CNN’s Reliable Sources on Sunday, host Brian Stelter pushed back and asked Karem if he wanted to apologize. Of course, the Karem refused and dug in his heels.
President Obama constantly told falsehoods to the American people about how his policies worked, how they would be implemented, and what the benefits were. His most famous one, “if you like your health care plan, you can keep it” got him the Lie of the Year. But when President Trump does his own spinning, it all of a sudden becomes a moral conundrum for the liberal media. The stacked anti-Trump panel on NBC’s Meet the Press proved this point on Sunday when they debated when to call him a liar.
It appears as though, with the long-awaited release of the Department of Justice Inspector General’s report exposing anti-Trump bias by senior FBI investigators, Republican Congressional leadership was finally ready to call for an end to the Special Counsel’s investigation. After House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY) spoke out, ABC’s Good Morning America was fearful for the future of the investigation on Sunday morning.
With the Justice Department's Inspector General rocking Washington, D.C. on Thursday with a damning report exposing the anti-Trump bias of senior FBI investigators, many in the liberal media were desperate to spin the findings to fit their narrative. During CNN's The Lead, host Jake Tapper took one of the greatest leaps and suggested that the consequence of biased FBI members was the election of President Trump.
The Department of Justice's Inspector General dropped a bombshell report on Washington, D.C. on Thursday which detailed their deep dive into the FBI’s handling of the Clinton e-mail probe. It found that former FBI Director James Comey was insubordinate, validating President Trump’s decision to fire him, but it also found that a small group of FBI agents had it out to get candidate Trump. Despite those facts, both ABC and CBS tried to downplay the role those agents played in the Russia investigation.
It has been two weeks since vulgar comedian Samantha Bee’s vile attack against Ivanka Trump on Full Frontal, in which she called the President’s daughter a “feckless c**t” who should seduce her father, and corporate advertisers continued to keep their distance for her June 13 episode with just six non-Turner-owned promos sponsoring the show.
On Wednesday, CBS News was the only broadcast network of the big three (ABC, CBS, and NBC) to inform their viewers of an ambush on the U.S.-Mexico border that left a Border Patrol agent in critical condition. By their evening broadcast, CBS reported that the agent was upgraded to stable condition but their broadcast competitors ignored the shooting altogether. They instead chose to hype the social media phenomenon of a raccoon that scaled a building in Minnesota.
From almost the very beginning, President Trump played down expectations for the North Korea summit, even suggesting it may not even happen. But now that the President was walking away with a signed commitment, which he acknowledged might fall through, liberal news outlets were questioning why they even had the summit at all. On Tuesday’s edition on CNN Tonight, author Max Boot argued Trump shouldn’t really get any credit because he was putting out the fire he started.
While broadcast networks ABC and CBS were skeptical about how the U.S.-North Korea agreement would turn out (a legitimate concern considering North Korea’s history of reneging on such deals), NBC Nightly News took a noticeably harsher tone and railed against President Trump. This decrying of Trump’s agreement comes after NBC has gone to bat time and time again for the radical Islamic regime of Iran and against our President.
When the two leaders were just a couple of hours from meeting each other, the liberal media were grasping at straws to find some way to attack and discredit the summit. On Monday’s (U.S. time) edition of CNN’s OutFront, host Erin Burnett was so desperate to find something to complain and fear monger about she actually suggested Trump was too jetlagged to be effective. It was something her panel pounced on to sew concern about the President’s ability to strike a deal.
Just a few hours before President Trump was scheduled to sit down with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un for a historic summit for peace and denuclearization on Monday, CBS correspondent Bianna Golodryga chided the President’s ability to negotiate in the United States’ best interest.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is a very real affliction that plagues many in the liberal media and many in the anti-Trump crowd. During an appearance on CNN’s Reliable Sources on Sunday, David Frum, a faux Republican and editor for the left-leaning Atlantic, showed off how advanced his TDS was when he decried President Trump ahead of the historic North Korea summit as a cruel “punishment” against the American people for being irresponsible and hating the news media.
