Coulter: 'Biden’s Gaffes Aren't That Damaging to Obama Because Media Is So Playing a Part in This Campaign'

"The other reason I think Biden’s gaffes aren't that damaging to the president is because the media is so playing a part in this campaign. I think this is going to be the worst media bias we’ve seen since the 1992 election. We can bring back those old bumper stickers. It was 'Annoy the Media - Vote Bush.' Now it’s 'Annoy the Media – Vote Romney.'”

So said conservative author Ann Coulter on Sunday's Fox & Friends Weekend (video follows with transcript and commentary):

DAVE BRIGGS, CO-HOST: So are Biden’s antics hurting the president or are they a welcome distraction. Author of "Demonic" now out in paperback, Ann Coulter joins us bright and early from L.A. Good morning, Ann.

ANN COULTER: Good morning.

BRIGGS: There are some who actually believe that maybe with the notable exception of that chains comment that all the gaffes from Joe Biden are actually a welcome distraction from the economy and from the issues. Do you agree?

COULTER: That's a question?

BRIGGS: You don’t always need the question mark at the end, Ann.

ALISYN CAMEROTA, CO-HOST: Is it possible that he's an asset and not a liability. Is that even possible?

COULTER: It’s an excellent point. I think any distraction from the economy, from the jobless rate, from just the haplessness of this president is probably a good distraction. I think the big distraction to watch out for is going to be probably a foreign policy October surprise, maybe allowing Israel to attack Iran, because I think the president is going to need a Hail Mary pass before the election.

And the other reason I think Biden’s gaffes aren't that damaging to the president is because the media is so playing a part in this campaign. I think this is going to be the worst media bias we’ve seen since the 1992 election. We can bring back those old bumper stickers. It was “Annoy the Media - Vote Bush.” Now it’s “Annoy the Media – Vote Romney.” Because Biden does say all kinds of crazy things. I don’t know if you remember his debate with Sarah Palin, you know, Sarah Palin who they describe as an utter airhead. She didn't say half the crazy things Biden said. I mean, it was misstatement of fact after misstatement of fact, and there was precisely one network that mentioned the misstatements of fact by Joe Biden.

CAMEROTA: But now they are talking about the gaffes, particularly the unchained one, that, you know, all of the different networks are covering that. Have you seen bias in this past week with his gaffes?

COULTER: Well, I have been traveling, but in every airport I’ve been in, all I have seen are reports - because it’s usually CNN - are reports on Mitt Romney’s taxes.

BRIGGS: There’s a lot of those.

Yes, there are a lot of those, and there will continue to be as long as Obama's media feel it's their duty to talk about everything but the economy.

That's the only way the current White House resident can win.

And his press minions are only too happy to help despite being routinely called out by folks like Coulter.
