CBS Waves Goodbye to NJ Voter Fraud Case, ABC Insists There’s Nothing to Worry About

After all three broadcast networks covered the shocking disclosure on their Tuesday evening newscasts that New Jersey allowed 6,600 non-citizens to register to vote, Wednesday’s CBS Mornings saw no reason to share it for CBS viewers in the early hours, while ABC’s Good Morning America downplayed its significance by Trumpwashing it as something the President is taking advantage of. 

CBS had time in the first half hour for stories on a tiger storming a liquor store in India and New York magazine’s list of 100 most-powerful Hollywood directors, but not this disturbing breach of our electoral system. 

Over on ABC, fill-in co-host Rebecca Jarvis led with the involvement of the Trump Justice Department: “We’re going to go now to the Department of Justice announcing that it’s investigating after New Jersey’s governor disclosed that more than 6,000 people who said they were not U.S. citizens were mistakenly registered to vote.” 

Chief White House correspondent and Biden regime apple polisher Mary Bruce put on an air of calm because “New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill says that because of a computer error, about 6,600 non-citizens who were registering for a driver’s license were also improperly registered to vote.”

Of course, party ID (Democrat) wasn’t part of Bruce’s story. 

Bruce went on, taking Sherill’s claims at face value: 

She says a 2023 software glitch at the state’s Motor Vehicle Commission led people who were not citizens and were not eligible to vote to be registered anyway. The governor says about 400 of those non-citizens actually voted, but she says there is no evidence that their votes swayed any elections. She says officials became aware of this issue last week, and that all 6,600 people are now being scrubbed from their voter rolls. And she is vowing that this will not happen again, saying when they find problems, they will fix them.

In contrast, though, she griped this came “as President Trump is ramping up his unproven claims of widespread election fraud.” 

“The President, quick to react to this news out of New Jersey, saying the episode underscores the need to pass his SAVE America Act, which of course, is his bill requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship,” she huffed. 

Not to be left out, NBC’s Today had a 33-second news brief from fill-in co-host Sheinelle Jones as merely a thing that happened:

Hundreds of non-citizens in New Jersey were able to cast ballots because of a software glitch. Governor Mikie Sherrill says a DMV software error led to more than 6,000 non-citizens being registered to vote when they signed up for driver’s licenses or ID cards. 400 of them actually cast ballots in New Jersey elections between 2023 and 2024. The governor says there is no evidence that any elections were swayed as a result. The state is now in the process of removing all of those names from the voter rolls.
