Joy Reid Dances On Lindsey Graham's Grave, Claims He Has Met The Devil

Over the past year-and-a-half, former MSNBC host Joy Reid has transferred her professional crazy person persona to her podcast, but on Monday, Reid took the shtick to the next level. While dancing on Sen. Lindsey Graham’s grave, Reid twice gleefully declared that Graham is now in hell.

Reid, wearing a "No H8" shirt, opened her show in a cheerful mood as if her favorite football team had just won the Super Bowl, “I hope you guys had a fabulous weekend where you definitely had a better week than the Republican Caucus in the United States Senate because hell opened its doors for at least one more. So, we're going to talk a little bit about that.”

Changing tone, Reid then turned to the media, “And you know, there is a thing that happens when people die who are not good people and who've done a lot of bad, but the media reacts to them in a very specific, sort of, fuck-up-ish kind of way, particularly when they're conservatives.

One can only wish that media obituaries to conservatives were as positive as Reid thinks they are. Nevertheless, later on in her show, Reid resumed her attacks on Graham, “Yeah, you're going to be remembered as someone who betrayed your friends, who betrayed your country, and who claimed that you cared about relationships, but in the end, the only relationship you actually cared about was the relationship with Donald Trump.”

Reid also doubled down on Graham being in hell, “You sold your soul, you betrayed your friends, your legacy, your own soul, you sold your soul to the devil, and now you get to meet him in person. So, I will not be bullied by the corporate media into doing fake encomiums. I cannot tell you how many anchors are on television saying, ‘The world is mourning, the death of Lindsey Graham, the unexpected.’ Nope.”

She then claimed, “I think that the January 6th cops are not mourning. I think that Joe Biden's family is probably mourning the Lindsey they knew before Donald Trump bought him.”

For most of his career, Lindsey Graham was the old-fashioned type of senator who would vote for any Supreme Court nominee, regardless of party. However, after the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process, Graham realized Democrats were not reciprocating and, a few years later, voted against Ketanji Brown Jackson. In Reid’s mind, that makes Graham a vile racist, “This is somebody who, I don't know if I was—Ketanji Brown Jackson’s a far better person than me by—be particularly mourning. He was one of the most snide, mean, horrific interrogators of black nominees in front of his Judiciary Committee, a horrible man in so many ways.”

Reid continued taunting the deceased when she added, “But at the same time, having been in the room with him, witty, intelligent, smart enough to do better and to know better. And we know we knew better, because he said it. He posted, ‘If we nominate Trump, we will be destroyed and we will deserve it.’ And eventually your party will be destroyed, Lindsey. Your whole legacy is already destroyed. You destroyed it. You destroyed your party. You and people like Marco Rubio who know that Donald Trump is a snake.”

The real question is, does Joy Reid know better, or does she genuinely believe that grave dancing makes her the better person?

Here is a transcript for the July 13 show:

The Joy Reid Show

JOY REID: I hope you guys had a fabulous weekend where you definitely had a better week than the Republican Caucus in the United States Senate because hell opened its doors for at least one more. So, we're going to talk a little bit about that.

And you know, there is a thing that happens when people die who are not good people and who've done a lot of bad, but the media reacts to them in a very specific, sort of, fuck-up-ish kind of way, particularly when they're conservatives.

Yeah, you're going to be remembered as someone who betrayed your friends, who betrayed your country, and who claimed that you cared about relationships, but in the end, the only relationship you actually cared about was the relationship with Donald Trump.

You sold your soul, you betrayed your friends, your legacy, your own soul, you sold your soul to the devil, and now you get to meet him in person. So, I will not be bullied by the corporate media into doing fake encomiums. I cannot tell you how many anchors are on television saying, “The world is mourning, the death of Lindsey Graham, the unexpected.”

Nope. I think that the January 6th cops are not mourning. I think that Joe Biden's family is probably mourning the Lindsey they knew before Donald Trump bought him. This is somebody who, I don't know if I was—Ketanji Brown Jackson’s a far better person than me by—be particularly mourning.

He was one of the most snide, mean, horrific interrogators of black nominees in front of his Judiciary Committee, a horrible man in so many ways. But at the same time, having been in the room with him, witty, intelligent, smart enough to do better and to know better.

And we know we knew better, because he said it. He posted, "If we nominate Trump, we will be destroyed and we will deserve it." And eventually your party will be destroyed, Lindsey. Your whole legacy is already destroyed. You destroyed it. You destroyed your party. You and people like Marco Rubio who know that Donald Trump is a snake.
