Soros-backed Virginia Prosecutor Descano Drops Charges Against Another Bus Stop Murder Suspect

The office of Fairfax, Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorney Steve Descano has dropped murder charges against a man suspected of murdering a man at a bus stop – just days after the George Soros-backed prosecutor drew national criticism for dropping charges against an illegal alien who later went on to be charged with the murder of a woman at a bus stop last month.

“The Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney is in the spotlight again,” FOX 5 DC wrote Thursday, reporting that a second-degree murder charge has been dropped against Robert Andrew Reed, who had been accused of fatally stabbing another man at a bus stop last summer.

Reed isn’t the only bus stop murder suspect to have charges dropped, the local Fox affiliate explains:

“This development comes just one day after FOX 5 reported on internal emails showing that police had previously warned the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office against releasing a different suspect following a probation violation.

“Three months after that suspect's release, he was accused of fatally stabbing 41-year-old Stephanie Minter. In that case, the office also cited uncooperative witnesses as the reason they could not pursue further charges.”

“DESCANO DOES IT AGAIN: Fairfax's infamous Soros DA is poised to drop MURDER CHARGES against violent repeat offender and convicted child sex predator who murdered a homeless man at a bus stop last June,” Virginians 4 Safe Communities declared in a social media post reacting to the news.

CBS affiliate WUSA 9 describes video of Reed reviewed by Descano’s office:

Robert Reed, 57,  was arrested in connection with the June killing of 32-year-old Marvin Waters, an unhoused individual, near a bus stop in Groveton. According to Fairfax County Police, surveillance footage captured Reed chasing Waters from the scene. Investigators say cameras also recorded Reed fleeing on a bus with what appeared to be blood on his hands and hoodie.

“Court documents indicate that when Reed was apprehended days later, he was still wearing the same pants on the same day as the murder.”

Financial records and donation records tie Descano to far-left activist billionaire George Soros, according to a recap of news sources by The Daily Caller:

“Election finance records show that the Justice and Public Safety PAC funneled more than $600,000 into the “Descano for Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney — Steve: Committee” since 2019, according to the Virginia Public Access Project.

“Left-wing billionaire George Soros and his political action committee have donated millions to the Justice & Public Safety PAC, Fox News reported.

“In 2019 alone, Justice and Public Safety PAC donated nearly $1 million to fund progressive candidates for Virginia prosecutors, according to The Washington Post.”

Descano’s office dropped the charges against Reed via a nolle prosequi motion, which leaves it free to resume the prosecution, if it chooses to do so.
