“This isn’t about retribution America; this is about accountability,” Constitutional scholar, best-selling author and conservative commentator Mark Levin explained Sunday, dispelling concerns about efforts by the Trump Administration’s Justice Department to investigation Democrats’ weaponization of the government during the Biden Administration.
Levin made the case during the opening segment of his “Life, Liberty and Levin” Fox News Channel program, which he began by recounting the scandalous history of the Democrat Party - ranging from slavery, segregation, Jim Crow and eugenics to recent Democrat administrations’ misuse of the justice system to attack political opponents.
The Democrat Party stands for the old Confederacy in its defiance of the nation's laws and Constitution, Levin said. This time however, it is embracing Marxism. Islamism, socialism and authoritarianism.
“It is a diabolical party. It is an alien force within a republic" that is incompatible with the American system of government, Levin said.
Democrats dressed up as judges, prosecutors and an attorney general all colluded to help Jack Smith, a Democrat hit man masquerading as a special prosecutor, to target hundreds of conservatives and conservative entities, Levin said:
“This is a massive assault on our republic. This is the Democrat Party using the institutions of government to destroy the Republican Party and to destroy a former president and now president, of the Republican party. This is unbelievable."
This same Justice Department that sent an armed FBI SWAT team to President Donald Trump's Florida home merely to retrieve documents also tried to use the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act against him, Levin noted.
What's more, as he was leaving office, Democrat President Barack Obama ordered the CIA to change its official intelligence report that concluded that there was no collusion between Trump and Russia. The Obama-ordered change enabled Democrats to hold unconscionable hearings persecuting Trump and obtain two impeachments, Levin recalled.
“So don’t tell me that what this administration is doing to try and bring back justice to America, to defend the Constitution, is retribution! It’s accountability and, by God, I hope they succeed,” Levin said.
