Between Monday night and late Tuesday, various media outlets made the bizarre comparison between Melania Trump’s CNN interview defending husband Donald Trump against allegations of sexual assault to the infamous sit down then-First Lady Hillary Clinton gave to NBC’s Today in 1998 where she denounced accusations against President Bill Clinton as part of a “vast right-wing conspiracy.”

Before MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews compared President Barack Obama to Martin Luther King Jr. with a biblical delivery, Matthews expressed on Tuesday some bitterness that “the Supreme Court intervened in our electoral process” back in 2000 to which conservative radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt promptly swatted him down. 

Even though the Obama presidency is winding down and he’s not officially on the ballot in November, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews showed on Tuesday that he has more moments left in the tank with this one having him go numb in hailing the President as having “a little MLK” inside of him with a biblical-like delivery.

A source identifying himself as Guccifer 2.0 provided The Intercept with emails revealing “friendly and highly useful relationships” between the Clinton campaign and the U.S. media.
