Monday morning saw the news that the Biden administration is trying to change the definition of a “recession.” It seems as though CBS Mornings on Monday got a jump on the official government talking points. Reporter Ramy Inocencio focused on the upside to the inflation, high gas prices and struggling economy: Cheap gelatos, croissants and espressos over in Europe. 

CBS Sunday Morning sat down with former President Barack Obama and rock star Bruce Springsteen for a chummy interview with the two leftists to promote their podcast. It was as gushy and pathetic as you might expect.

This week saw Joe Biden’s cratering poll numbers fall even lower. On Wednesday, four polls came out and the results are bleak. Reuters: 36 percent. Politico: 38 percent. Rasmussen: 39 percent. Economist/YouGuv: 40 percent. Unsurprisingly, the networks skipped coverage of the latest terrible news for the President.

After minimal coverage Friday morning of the violent assassination attempt of New York Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin as he campaigned for governor, ABC’s World News Tonight and CBS Evening News downplayed the attack with the latter calling the weapon just a keychain. And NBC Nightly News ignored the attack altogether to focus on lost luggage at airports.

Apparently some political violence just isn’t that interesting, at least to the journalists at CBS and MSNBC. On Thursday night, a man with a blade rushed the stage as Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin was speaking in Rochester, New York. The assailant attempted to stab the Republican gubernatorial candidate before being wrestled to the ground.
