Wrong, Katy Tur, Ross Perot Didn't Run for President as a Libertarian

H. Ross Perot was many things back in the '90s -- wealthy businessman with a penchant for charts and conspiracy theories, insistent prophet warning of fiscal ruin, two-time presidential candidate, and the basis for one of Dana Carvey's best impersonations on Saturday Night Live -- but one thing he was not was a libertarian. Which made it surprising to hear Perot described this way from someone…

Actress on Conan: Abortion Is ‘Cool,’ Like AAA Car Towing

Even jokes have their limits. During his show May 26, Conan O’Brien invited actress Natasha Leggero on his show. Recently converted to Judaism, Leggero praised her new religion for treating abortion as “cool” enough to have on “every Jewish holiday.” After all, she reasoned, it’s good to have a back-up to fall on, just like AAA for cars.

Hollywood Reporter: ‘Right-Wing’ Government Would Extradite Polanski

Poland’s government has firmly established itself as right-wing – for wanting to prosecute child rapist Roman Polanski. The Hollywood Reporter posted an article earlier this week stating that “Poland’s new right-wing government” is seeking to overturn a court decision not to extradite the Oscar-winning director. In a normal world, everyone would want to throw Polanski in jail. But apparently,…

CBS’s Cordes: Hillary ‘Not Interested’ in ‘Tough Questions’

On Wednesday’s CBS This Morning, correspondent Nancy Cordes agreed with Donald Trump’s criticism of Hillary Clinton over her refusal to hold press conferences: “...those of us who cover the Hillary Clinton campaign would love to have a press conference, even if she insulted us. You know, she hasn't done one for months and months, which is something that Donald Trump himself noted.”

NPR: Black Lives Matter Drops 'Zionist' Allies for Palestinians

For many years, the liberal media have portrayed the Anti-Defamation League as some kind of nonpartisan group fighting anti-Semitism and other “hate crimes,” and not as a left-wing group. But on Tuesday’s Morning Edition, NPR reported that the Left can’t ally any more with the ADL, because it’s supportive of Israel. ADL may have marched with Martin Luther King, but today’s “civil rights activists…

Spanish-Language Nets Take Divergent Approach to Memorial Day Coverage

Here at MRC Latino, we often find similar areas of concern when pointing out the unique biases of our domestic Spanish-language news media. However, there are times when different networks will take such varied approaches to the same story so as to compel us to take notice. Memorial Day in Los Angeles was such an instance, as Univision and Telemundo both went out to cover the Memorial Day…
