On Friday morning, as the networks informed viewers that Facebook has banned several controversial political groups and individuals from having an account, ABC, CBS, NBC, and MSNBC all failed to inform viewers that Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan has been tied to the left, even while the same shows made a point of using terms like "far-right" to describe others affected by the ban.
On Tuesday, all three network morning shows were united in promoting NBC News reporter Kristen Welker shouting an impeachment question at President Trump during the annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday. A soundbite of the brief exchange was featured on each broadcast, amid coverage worrying about Democrats being divided over the issue.
Hours before Attorney General William Barr was set hold a press conference at the Justice Department ahead of the public release of the Mueller report, all three network morning shows hyped Democratic talking points preemptively trashing the presser and accusing Barr of just doing President Trump’s “partisan bidding.”
Always eager to the promote underhanded swipes at President Trump, Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News hyped former First Lady Michelle Obama’s precedent-shattering swing comparing his time in office to the country living with their “divorced dad.” Instead of reporting on the outrage from the comment, NBC chose to move onto sympathizing with those fearing the Mueller report because it could out them as sources of “damaging information” against Trump.
On Monday, all three network morning shows recited the same nasty accusations from Democrats that President Trump was “inciting violence” against left-wing Congresswoman Ilhan Omar simply by criticizing her offensive comments downplaying the September 11th attacks. Glossing over Omar’s incendiary rhetoric, hosts and correspondents feared for the liberal lawmaker’s safety.
After the media failed to notice controversial Democratic Congresswoman Ihan Omar making offensive public comments two weeks ago in which she downplayed the September 11th terrorist attacks as “some people did something,” NBC’s Today show finally discovered the story on Thursday. The ABC and CBS morning shows continued to ignore Omar’s latest scandal, while NBC tried to paint her as a victim.
NBC’s Today was the most excited broadcast morning show on Thursday about the "new bombshell," the front-page New York Times story claiming some of Mueller’s investigators are concerned that “because Mr. Barr created the first narrative of the special counsel’s findings, Americans’ views will have hardened before the investigation’s conclusions become public.” But if this investigation is nonpartisan and non-political, why are investigators panicking anonymously about the political reception of the report, about “first narratives” and “hardened” impressions?
On Friday, ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News made sure to include amidst their extensive coverage on the completion of the Mueller Report that, despite the lack of any future indictments from the Special Counsel, House Democrats still have an increasing number of ongoing investigations into every aspect of President Trump’s life that could prove perilous for the White House.
Reporting for NBC’s Today show on Tuesday, correspondent Kristen Welker touted New Jersey Senator and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker being hit with a supposedly “tough question” during an interview with MSNBC host Chris Matthews that aired on Monday night’s Hardball. In reality, a clip of the alleged grilling showed Matthews urging Booker to call President Trump a “racist.”
After getting dragged during the 2018 midterms for her schoolgirl-like fawning for “rock star” Democratic Senate candidate Robert O’Rourke, ABC’s Paula Faris was at it again during Thursday’s World News Tonight where she looked at O’Rourke with doe eyes and asked: “Can hope, change, and unity beat Trump?”
After spending weeks eagerly awaiting former Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke entering the 2020 presidential race, on Thursday, NBC’s Today show excitedly declared “It’s official” and touted all the “buzz” surrounding the failed 2018 Senate candidate. Amid soundbites of O’Rourke’s announcement video, the morning show helpfully outlined his liberal platform.
After former Vice President Joe Biden all but confirmed he was planning to announce a 2020 run for president during a pair of public engagements on Tuesday, the liberal media were eager to hype the news. This included NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, who quipped: “Tonight, former Vice President Joe Biden is coming out swinging, taking on President Trump in a pair of appearances that felt, at times, like campaign rallies without the campaign part.”
