Bowing to pressure from the likes of CNN’s Brian Stelter, NBC Nightly News pivoted on Tuesday to condemn the President’s behavior toward Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) as “racist” and, along with ABC’s World News Tonight, shame Republicans for not being as anti-Trump as Democrats.
President Trump has organized a special Fourth of July event to take place on the National Mall which he dubbed “a salute to America,” and the liberal broadcast networks were not pleased with it. MSNBC’s Jacob Soboroff overreacted to President Trump’s tweet proclaiming that “ICE will begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States.” According to Soboroff, a desire to invoke fear and cruelty motivated the President’s announcement of this “migrant roundup.”
Not long after Sarah Huckabee Sanders decided to step down as press secretary for the Trump administration, MSNBC Live anchor Hallie Jackson took advantage of the situation on Friday by asking Sanders’ predecessor, Sean Spicer, if he had set a standard for dishonesty during his time in the White House. To no one’s surprise, Spicer denied the allegation as a “pretty loaded question” before admitting he made mistakes and told Jackson he hoped she would own up to her own as a reporter.

Despite admitting the move had the support of “three dozen generals and admirals”, NBC Nightly News seemed peeved that President Trump pardoned Michael Behenna, a former U.S. soldier convicted of unlawfully killing a terrorist in a combat zone. But back in 2017, NBC cheered when President Obama released Chelsea Manning, who damaged U.S. intelligence by leaking secrets to WikiLeaks (before the media hated them). They also ignored Obama’s release of an unrepentant terrorist.
Thursday is reportedly when we should expect former Vice President Joe Biden to formally announce his 2020 campaign for president.
