The latest episode of Scandal, “Wild Card,” was full of its typical bed-hopping among the political elite. Nothing new there. What was interesting, though, was how they used the liberal view of right-wing stereotypes to make Republicans look bad.

The evil greedy businessman has become a well-documented Hollywood trope over the years. So of course Shonda Rhimes took that stereotype and added racism and sexism to the mix on ABC’s How to Get Away With Murder.

On February 12 at a Washington, D.C., McDonalds, a bunch of teenage thugs beat up a U.S. Marine while citing inspiration from the Black Lives Matter movement. That brutal assault, caught on security tape, was virtually ignored by the liberal broadcast and cable networks. 

As if they didn’t learn anything from MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the panel on Monday’s Nightly Show decided to call into question the Hispanic credentials of Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio to the point where the collective community supposedly does not “even necessarily consider them Latino because they haven’t embraced their heritage.”

This must be "Donald Trump is the end of the world" week at the Washington Post. Earlier today, Tim Graham at NewsBusters described a morning "Acts of Faith" item at the Post by Joseph Loconte. Appearing on the Powerhouse Panel for the Sunday edition of ABC’s This Week, News One Now anchor Roland Martin chided those in the Republican Party that have animosity toward Donald Trump because “they invited evil in and now evil is taking over” that began by standing in firm opposition to President Barack Obama and having supposedly accepted Trump’s “whole birther deal.”
