MRC's Seton Motley on FNC's Fox & Friends
October 3rd, 2008 11:38 AM
The Media Research Center's Director of Communications and NewsBusters.org Contributing Editor Seton Motley appeared this morning on the Fox News Channel's Fox & Friends to discuss the media's ongoing silence about the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, better known by it's acronym, ACORN. Seton asserts that the media has remained steadfastly silent about ACORN due to the…
Lara Logan: Luscious Looter
October 3rd, 2008 10:38 AM
You know how criminals often get caught because they can't resist bragging about their exploits? What follows may be yet another example of that phenomenon. CBS correspondent Lara Logan, who spent several years covering the Iraq War, has previously been a news subject herself as a result of her extracurricular activities. Logan had an affair with "a married federal contractor whom she met while…
Rolling Stone: McCain a 'Mean Little Fu_ _ er,' That Puts Own 'Advance
October 3rd, 2008 6:46 AM
The Rolling Stone has a long attack piece on John McCain in its October issue that really rakes the GOP presidential candidate over the coals. The piece indulges in quite a lot of name calling and dismisses his patriotism, bravery, and integrity in nearly every paragraph. It's quite a vicious attack piece, really.
This slanderous piece doesn't even take a little time to get warmed up as it…
McCain on Fox News: 'I Wish They Picked A Different Moderator
October 2nd, 2008 6:30 PM
This morning, Republican presidential candidate, John McCain, appeared on Fox News's Fox & Friends to answer a few questions about tonight's vice presidential debate between Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Delaware Senator Joe Biden.Grabbing the headlines the past few days has been the news that Gwen Ifill, debate moderator, has written a book subtitled "The Age of Obama" which is set to be…
WaPo Ignores Its Own Poll Showing McCain Gain, Focuses on Palin Allege
October 2nd, 2008 4:35 PM
If Old Media can cook their numbers to make their favored candidate look good, they will. Earlier today, I covered two cooked AP-GfK polls (at NewsBusters; at BizzyBlog). The pollster dramatically changed the party-ID makeup of the second poll to include a much higher percentage of Democrats, and watered down the strong-GOP component of the Republicans sampled. As a result, the two poll results,…
WaPo Loves Republicans, When They're Frustrated 'Moderates' Venting Th
October 2nd, 2008 11:55 AM
Washington Post metro columnist Marc Fisher treated readers of the October 2 paper to a look at outgoing "moderate" Republican Wayne Gilchrest (1st District-Md.), who was felled in a primary contest back in February by a conservative state senator backed by the fiscally conservative group Club for Growth. Fisher dutifully documented and then applauded not only Gilchrest's disillusionment with Sen…
Reporter Fired For Wearing Obama T-Shirt While Covering Obama Rally
October 2nd, 2008 9:55 AM
A 15-year Detroit radio reporter was fired for wearing an Obama T-Shirt while on the job covering an Obama rally. As a result of this major breach of ethics, WWJ Newsradio 950 showed reporter Karen Dinkins the door -- that's right, she was fired. I must say that it is pretty amazing to see a media outlet uphold ethics like this, especially in Detroit. But there you have it.
Cooking with AP: Polls Radically Change Party Mix to Fabricate an Obam
October 2nd, 2008 6:26 AM
In the kitchens of the Associated Press, it's almost as if the wire service asked its chief cook -- er, pollster -- GfK Roper Public Affairs and Media, to do the following: Whip up a tasty, representative poll after the Republican Convention.Three weeks later, make the same dish, but this time adjust the mix of ingredients by radically oversampling Democrats and undersampling Republicans, thereby…
NYT Maureen Dowd Kicked Off McCain's Campaign Plane: He's 'Dismissive
October 2nd, 2008 5:37 AM
Well, I guess the McCain campaign really did get tough on the New York Times. Yesterday, leftist columnist Maureen Dowd was told she was no longer welcome on McCain's campaign plane and had to go home with her tail between her legs. Tim McNulty of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports that Mo's parting shot was a charge that because of this incident McCain is somehow against the First Amendment…
Poll: 41% Say Iraq War Succeeding, 48% Say Will Get Even Better
October 1st, 2008 11:37 PM
Granted the focus of today's news is overwhelmingly on the bailout and the presidential race, but there is also big news on how Americans are now seeing the war effort. The pendulum has swung from despair to hopeful belief and this is important news that impinges on the elections.
Rasmussen released new data on September 30 that shows that more Americans are now viewing the war as a success and…
Only ABC Highlights Debate Moderator Gwen Ifill's Obama Book
October 1st, 2008 6:23 PM
Of the three morning shows on Wednesday, only "Good Morning America" highlighted the growing controversy regarding the disclosure that PBS reporter Gwen Ifill, the moderator of Thursday's vice presidential debate, has authored a supportive book about Barack Obama and other African American politicians. CBS's "Early Show" and NBC's "Today" both skipped the subject. GMA news anchor Chris Cuomo…
Obama Gets His Own Wedding Anniversary Wrong
October 1st, 2008 6:26 AM
So, The One was in front of his subjects of the Black Congressional Caucus in D.C. and was wowing them with the mellifluous tones of his oratory and there stood the little missus. There was that mean Mama all a flutter over her man -- you know, the one that made her proud of America for the very first time? -- and the messiah deigned to notice her across the room. The One thought to bring her…
Boston Globe Leads With a Lie -- Debunked Palin Rape Kit Story Raised
October 1st, 2008 1:27 AM
I would urge someone close to members of the editorial board of the Boston Globe to let them know that the world is not flat, the moon is not made of green cheese, and Elvis is, indeed, dead. I say this because obviously the Boston Globe is way behind the times in discovering facts that debunk rumors and it's clear they have no capacity to do any research. I mean, they must not be paying…
Det. Free Press: Another Boring Palin's-Bad-For-Women Screed
September 30th, 2008 11:28 PM
I suppose this makes something like the one hundredth leftist female writer that has decided that Sarah Palin is a traitor to womanhood. But, here we have it again, another wild-eyed, hate filled, far left screed filled with name calling and little else, this one from Rochelle Riley and the Detroit Free Press. One would think that the papers all across the country would be ashamed of giving space…
