It’s been several months since the #MeToo movement faded from public view, but that doesn’t mean the problem of sexual harassment has gone away completely. The latest example of “he said, she said” came when a website reported that a female producer with CBS’s 60 Minutes program accused a male former boss of unlawful “discriminatory” and “retaliatory” conduct.

The first two seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel let issues of the 1960s speak for themselves. As a comedienne trying to be a working mother, and a Jewish woman at that, Miriam "Midge" Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) experienced scorn, discrimination, and mockery. They were never heavy handed about it, though.

Thursday’s Democratic debate hosted by PBS and Politico was a rather dull affair, but one question regarding climate change from Politico chief political correspondent Tim Alberta stood out as particularly nutty by any reasonable standard. In back-to-back questions, he presses candidates on their plans to pick up and relocate the entire population of certain cities.

Impeachment has brought out the worst in Trump haters over the last couple of days, and even though the process probably won’t do much to Donald Trump’s momentum as president (cheers to the special few who are puzzled that he’s still around,) celebrities on Twitter were over the moon that Democrats were able to give the president the congressional form of “Orange Man Bad.” Bless their hearts.

Appearing on MSNBC’s 9:00 a.m. ET hour on Thursday, liberal historian Jon Meacham hailed the supposed “formidable legacy” of Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and proclaimed that the impeachment of President Trump was “an extraordinary political achievement” for the left-wing lawmaker.

Appearing on NBC’s Today show on Thursday to react to Wednesday night’s impeachment vote, Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd lamented “the end of a decade that has been just hyperpartisan, hypertoxic” and warned that “at times it feels as if culturally we’re in a cold civil war.”

MSNBC’s post-impeachment vote coverage on Wednesday was predictably littered with former Republicans to disingenuously express dismay about the state of the GOP and hail Democrats as saviors. For The Last Word, former GOP Congressmen Tom Coleman (MO) and David Jolly (FL) filled that role, trumpeting the impeachment vote as illustrating “the greatness of the republic” but also how the GOP…

Liberal pundit Rachel Maddow could barely contain her excitement at the onset of her eponymous MSNBC show on Wednesday night, boasting “this is not a dream” after House Democrats finally voted to impeach President Trump. And then at the end of her show, she went going gaga for Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA), swooning that’s been on “quite an odyssey” over the course of the impeachment inquiry. 

Not long after Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) began tallying the House vote for the first Article of Impeachment against President Trump Wednesday night, NBC political director Chuck Todd began to complain about how the latest NBC News poll on impeachment showed an unpersuaded public. To that, he huffed about the “factual debate” and how he found it “bizarre” that the President was getting cheered…

For 20 minutes and 25 seconds, the entirety of their Wednesday evening airtime, that’s how much time CBS Evening News dedicated to hawking impeachment to their viewers. The time was used to gush about Democratic speeches, mock White House spin, decry the President’s anger, chide Americans unwilling to go along, and boast about the lack of impartiality from Senate Democrats running for President.

The pro-LGBTQ media is now giving advice to the Hallmark Channel on how best to redress offending gays after the network reversed their decision to pull a lesbian ad last week. Of course it came as no surprise that entertainment outlet Indiewire insisted that Hallmark make a gay movie to prove where its loyalty really lies.

At this point, there really is only one major unresolved plot point remaining in the endless Star Wars saga: Where are the gay space aliens? Surely a story that spans galaxies and light years and campy dive cantinas must have run in to some, er, marginalized sexualities. Surely space pirates must have accidentally raided a “Wookie Cruise.”

Amid special coverage of Wednesday’s House vote to impeach President Trump, NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt and Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd waxed historical about the meaning of it all. Todd lamented that the country seemed “numb” to the process following “the worst decade in American politics.”
